When i tell people i have the assbuggers i get 3 different reactions, 2 are common 1 is rare.

1. They will think of stereotypes or of low functioning autists when they hear this and they will think your a freak or they will make fun of you.

2. They will start talking to you differently and will have the same tone of voice that most of us use when we talk to a small child or to our. Basically they will treat you like a retarded child stuck in a adult body. They are trying to be nice but it comes off fake as fuck. A good example is that when i was in high school a girl in class used to hate me for whatever reason and then one day she started to put on that voice and tried being really nice to me, i don't know how but i knew she found out i was autistic.

3. They treat you as if you were "normal" and don't care. This is the rare one btw.

Correct, DSM-5 Changed it when it was released in 2013, it's still common to refer to high-functioning or light-autism or low-functioning high-autism but the 3 subgroups of autism have disappeared.

I work in the only office that hires people that do what I do, and spend all week in very close proximity to my coworkers; there are no separate offices, just one room where we all have our own desks. To be fair, within a 20 minute drive are two different towns of over 5000, and in under an hour you're at a population center of over 100k. I do Mining Engineering, I'm a Civil Engineer by trade but I couldn't find any work besides this job.
