I think it's unfair that companies test for weed but not alcohol. Smoking weed heavily in your spare time can be a problem in a work environment, but so can heavy alcohol use. What is the point of making it legal when most companies test for it? Will this ever change?

my company tests for both as well. i work as a civil servant in NY with heavy machinery and gas powered equipment that also requires very heavy lifting in a dangerous environment. pays very well, but i cant drink more than a few beers or a couple of mixed drinks the night before work for obvious reasons. weed is also unacceptable.
