Seriously. The songs on the radio are trash so I’m wondering if it’s just because Christian music is trash. Would the Jesus Christ superstar soundtrack count as Christian music? That was good, but idk if that counts
Is there any actual good christian albums?

More so overt Christian lyricism:
Seven Swans by Sufjan Stevens
The Christ Tree by The Trees Community
The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads by Lift to Experience
Arrayed Above the Seraphim Lights by Even Oxen
One by Neal Morse
Made by Christians and at least some Christian influence in the lyrics:
Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Sackcloth 'n' Ashes by 16 Horsepower
1990 by Daniel Johnston
Made by Christians, but you probably couldn't tell from the lyrics:
Silver by Starflyer 59
You could also check out 666 by Aphrodite's Child, which is based off the Book of Revelation.
Post Sup Forumscore made by Christians.
Arvo Part
bump for Lift to Experience
also Lift frontman JTP's solo work and gospel covers

Merzbow
Pere Ubu are Christians? Can I get a source?
Life of the World to Come by the Mountain Goats
Darnielle has been in and out of the fold for years but as of last year in interview w Christianity today he is very much In
...
...
The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me
Brand New in general, actually
...
christian music gets dealt a bad hand because atheists and seculars judge it based on like 90's butt rock rather than like acknowledging that it is a centuries old religion

Yeah, anything by Sufjan Stevens
Also forgot, Kanye is weird guy that samples a lot of very good and very obscure black gospel music
Kanye is pretty Sup Forumscore and also really religious.
Seeing Pere Ubu in November
Should I ask David about his religion?
Kanye is a self-proclaimed Christian
Underoath albums
As Cities Burn albums (I personally love Hell Or High Water)
Paramore is also Christian
This thread again? It's surprising there's so many Jebusfags on Sup Forums
They make good music and all, but they're heathens and God haters.
Fuck you this is good album
>USA is about 80% christian
>struggles to find or make good christian music throughout the past 100 years
what did they mean by this?
Stryper's To Hell With The Devil
there's a lot of good christian music, but it isn't on christian radio
>In 2011, Darnielle performed solo in support of Planned Parenthood
Well lets hope his oppinion has changed since 2011
for explicitly religious songs, there's a difference between the attempt to make "Christian music" for the marketplace, and music made by people who happen to be Christian and are making it just for themselves as a function of community worship without any other considerations:

Underoath has always kind of been posers after they kicked their first singer out. But hey band intentions vs actual message are 2 different things
A Love Supreme. Ascension. Meditations.
Pretty much every Coltrane album.
This is so true. Also you pretty much have to "come out" as a christian now days so you dont know how many bands are actually christian
Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads
The Middle East are religious as far as I know.
This is so bad it’s good.
When the overwhelming majority of people in a country are one particular religion it's a bit ridiculous to say "they have to come out and represent us christians".
It would be like Syrians whining about how muslim music isn't represented enough because a band doesn't identify explicitly as a muslim band, using a country of comparable make up to what christianity in the US.
I guess this counts
Those made by these guys are very good.
It’s divisive but there are some stand out tracks from Dylan’s evangelical phase. I particularly like this album but Shot of Love and Slow Train Coming are decent too.
Swans are alright.
You're not a real Christian until you listen to this.
:^)
Manchester Orchestra - Everything to Nothing
It has Christian themes all along and the last few tracks are very heavy and impactful in that
People would just find it annoying unless the subject of the music is Christianity.
are you asking about Christians who make music or capital m Christian Music? Two very different things. The latter is mostly trash but you have stuff like mewithoutYou and Starflyer 59 that are good
What's with the fan art album cover?
Simon Finn - Pass the Distance has some cool religious themes
Also another good Christian themed album is The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads from Lift to Experience
Glenn Kaiser has made some great bluesy rock over the years.
I'm sure it would be considered a guilty pleasure on here but Relient K has had some good output. Matt Thiessen is a very charming lyricist.
I'm not even religious but man do I love this album
Christian Prog-Rock from Kerry Livgren although he wasn't really pushing any kind of message in this one.
reminder that matt thiessen used to fuck teenage katy perry
I haven't decided if Mirror of Souls or Ghost Ship is the better album but I think it's Mirror.
