DC: just fuck my shit up

Bret Easton Ellis Says Ben Affleck’s ‘The Batman’ Has Script Problems But WB Don’t Care Because It’ll Make Money Anyway

>“I was having dinner with a couple of executives who know other executives who are working on the [forthcoming] Batman movie, ‘The Batman,’ ” Ellis said. “And they were just telling me that there are serious problems with the script. And that the executives I was having dinner with were complaining about people who work on the Batman movie. And they just said they went to the studio and they said, ‘Look, the script is … Here’s 30 things that are wrong with it that we can fix.’ And [the executives] said, ‘We don’t care. We don’t really care. The amount of money we’re going to make globally, I mean 70 percent of our audience is not going to be seeing this in English. And it doesn’t really matter, these things that you’re bringing up about the flaws of the script.’ So I do think global concerns play a big part in how movies, and what movies, are being made, obviously.”

Every capeshit script has problemewaoannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnjn araw

are you ok

did you just have a stroke?

>Bret Easton Ellis
Yeah, let's believe that guy.

Kek

nice gyno Ben

>I mean 70 percent of our audience is not going to be seeing this in English

wow thanks for caring WB lmao

After seeing BVS I'm never paying for a WB or DC theatre experience again, but this is kinda shocking

He's an arrogant prick with a big mouth but I don't think he has a reputation for lying

>Batman vs Manboobs

Every DC movie since 2013 has been ruined by studio meddling why would anyone expect different of this new movie?

>After seeing BVS I'm never paying for a WB or DC theatre experience again
This.

He really needs a bra.

he doesn't give a fuck. he's literally our guy

people lost their shit over a still image of deathstroke who is a B- villain at most and a glorified jobber who has a cool design.

its still gonna make billions

WB know that people will still see the movie and do money just on the character. It explains why they don't really care to get the script right

Dc needs a dedicated film studio. Having wb giving them shit is fucking up the proposed cinematic universe

did he say that in the recent podcast episode with mark duplass?

>he watched TDK, TDKR, and MoS
>but BVS is such a terrible movie he'll never see another

Threadly reminder that The Dark Knight sucked absolute donkey balls

This.

Its shitty how in the end, its the executives who decide if a movie will be good or bad. I WAS excited for batfleck movie, but even under his direction the movie will be hindered by the execs as soon as ben makes a decision that doesnt sit well with the head jews.

This. He's in agreement with Sup Forums on almost everything that matters.

might not like the guy but if there's somebody on Hollywood with no filter it's him

>Threadly reminder that The Dark Knight sucked absolute donkey balls

dark knight is good.

Since when Sup Forums is in agreement with anything?

>The Dark Knight
yeah no

How does it feel to be a brainless drone.
You can't tell me TDK was a good movie, but BvS was sooo bad you'll never see another. TDK is marginally better than BvS

If I were those executives I'd never have dinner with this Ellis faggot again
Blabbermouth fuck

You're getting some you's because we're on Sup Forums but this is the weakest bait I've seen today

Exactly. This story is bullshit.

It's kind of a good sign that a bunch of execs have a long list of things they would like to change but won't.

>Inb4 some contrarian post praising Hollywood suits and bashing directors.

>TDK is marginally better than BvS
Better at what? Making me hate Batman. You're right. Nolan's Batman is terrible. He's terrible, his Gotham is terrible, his rouge's gallery is terrible. IDK how people who would otherwise fall asleep at Nolan movies pretend to like his TDK trilogy.

Strokeposting is my new favourite memeeeeeeeeeeattttttyrruraw

>capeshit
>shit writing

wow stop the fucking presses the world needs to know this

It's almost like Hollywood movies are not art they're commercial product made by committees and boards in order to maximize return on their investment not necessarily create a piece of media with depth and gravitas or quality.

>people want to monkey up the script
>won't let them
how is that a bad thing

>in order to maximize return on their investment
I just wanna see how many movies it takes to half-ass in the DCEU before they start flopping so hard they'll start caring about their "products", I fucking hope it's the next one already

Bret's podcast is maximum comfy

you're a true pleb huh?

I figured capeshit fans on here were all baiters and falseflaggers but you actually think the Dark knight is a good movie

serious question. why don't you post on reddit

How new are you? Are we talking minutes

>PEOPLE SHOULD POST HOW I WANT THEM TOO AND NOT INSULT ME!

you're fifteen years old and you just discovered Sup Forums, how far off am I

>rouge's gallery
Is that an exhibition of different shades of red?

I've been here longer than any capeshit fan

...

It's literally like a sympathy meme. Everyone hyped the jokers performance to meme levels, then he died before the movie came out elevating the memoicity to levels we've never quite seen before

move along, nothing to see here

>have millions of dollars
>still don't get a quick surgery to fix the gyno
>literally costs like 1 to 5k dollars

Ben has too much artistic merit and pride to direct a film with a script that he considers subpar. He's going to be 4/4 by the end of this year, his filmography is damn impressive already and it's going to be better - when Argo is your weak point, you know you got talent.

These "people who can fix the script" usually work together with executives, and they "fix" the script by making it as neutered as possible to appeal to the widest possible audience. This is why Suicide Squad was rewritten / reshoot and turned out to be utter shit.
Keeping Affleck's original vision might be for the best, fuck knows though

right? Suicide squad was never going to be good, not enough time to work the script and then WB panicked
