1930s-1960s for Hollywood movies

Your trips should be enough to notice that this is a good thing.

Even just based on aesthetics alone, the 60's were GOAT for film
Literally no.
Everything is either outright CGI or CGI enhanced. There is no more soul. Actors are doing some of their worst work in the history of the form.
not all movies are superhero movies user
what some more then come talk to me you idiot
50s-60s are my favorite I think.
I really want to like the 80s but a lot of the "classics" are surprisingly shit. Even for cozy campy 80s movies.
The silent era. The way they used the camera to express their thoughts is amazing. So many good films were made before sound.

But the silent trash was even worse than today's trash because at least most films these days can follow the rules of continuity editing.
1920-1984 russian/european/british/hollywood
90% watchable factoring in classics/b-movies/hollywood/arthouse

1977 - 1999 Last good era
70s

Hollywood's success rate is patchy now plus all the reboots/remakes.
foreign presales are bruising Hollywood. We get dumb blockbusters all year around and then some Oscar bait in December.
Foreign films, indies and low budget horror/thrillers are exceptions though as they always are.
50s 60s 70s and 90s were the best
80 was the beginning of hyper-commercialism
It's well-regarded in film enthusiast circles that 1960-1979 was the golden age.
But in terms of advents in film technology and literacy - 1918-1940
1920s and 1950s
The one people usually cite is the Hayes Code era of 1933 - 1967.
the era when i was 12
