Government's struggle to censor and control the internet is what happened to the old /b? When it started I guess it was a safe haven for vigilantes like Anonymous because they could express themselves without worry of government retaliation. People posts are anonymous, meaning their identity isn't compromised and they are free to say whatever they want without dealing with any consequences in the time following. Sup Forums got famous. A large influx of people came here trying to be edgy. They outnumbered the real, creative edgy people who fueled this site. They overwhelmed them and drove them away. They cringed the creative user base away by not lurking enough and trying way too hard to be edgy when they clearly were just paying lip service to try to fit in. People used to do things here. Now they just talk about doing things.
