The north part of my university's campus looks like commie blocs.

Window view.

Are those dorms or something else?

fucking shit

this is how fucking hell must look like

for some reason it looks comfy as fuck to me

how the fuck Russia has a similar gdp per capita to Poland?

Dorms, yeah.

The north side of campus looks more like a typical university (commieblocks are on the south side, my bad).

Here's my house

the red ones look ok though

Comfy yet horrifying at the same time desu

just took it
view from my current house
not the one in

I live close to pic related. It's a Tibetan enclave now. Some of the buildings are owned by Swedish Akelius.

wow, i instantly want to kill myself
that is fucking depressing
i bet it is from some 50 years ago though

More like 2000

Welcome to eastern europe

Its even worse here than in russia :(

I visited Prague and rode in a bus across Czechia. There is a ring of ugly buildings around Prague with an IKEA in their midst, but otherwise the city looks butifel you lying Pepik.

no way it can be worse.
btw most of the pics from russia didn't look as depressing to me as this one. some are even comfy. but this one is fucking hell.

The so-called Affenfelsen or Rock of the apes as we call the the Rock of Gibraltar. It's the main student dormitory.

Buildings that are next to my street

actually looks cozy

Maybe it's because i grew up in Bulgaria and we have similar commie blocks. It seems dirt poor but I never felt poor, and actually felt like i had a community i belonged to.

Looking at it now i can't believe i used to live there and never felt bad. I loved it actually, everyone was happy

Buildings down the street

turkey looks so first world

because you were a kid and didn't have to provide for yourself?

thats just my district
theres shit places like this in İstanbul such as Güngören, Esenyurt, Atışalanı and so where Kurds and Syrians are majority

that still looks first world

your pic looks like dresden

another example

which part of town has the best airbnb options? meaning cheap and not too ugly.

not mine but looks extremly similar to my pre-ww2 commieblock. I also live near a forest park. feels comfy

this looks alright but traffic seems to be pretty bad
do you have subway?

Not living there, but I am around there a lot. The only other commie blocks in the city are on the outer parts of the city, so I don't see them often.
It is also the biggest structure here.

and one is right next to me

I would say either my place which is called Atakent or around Büyükçekmece

Yeah we do have subways and that much of traffic is considered an open road in İstanbul

for some reason all my photos are rotated but bear with it

that still looks okay
if that's the worst place, then turkey made a lot of progress

youtube.com/watch?v=VpDXSAl4QZU
This is how commeblock is born

Not really, mate.

Jesus

We did make a lot of progress but look at this shit

Worst part is i live 10 mins away from this favela looking PKK infested shithole

typical spanish

This looks like the "okay" parts of Georgia (the ex-Communist country, not the US state).

Nothing looks as bad as Russia.

>Germany
>first world

looks like a typical japanese building

I've only stayed in a commieblock in Ljubljana. There aren't any around me because everyone lives in a house their family built

i like communist commieblocks though
my grandpa lived (and still does) in the 12th floor of a commieblock called Alipasino Polje in Bosnia and it was so fucking comfy to see all those other grey-scaled commieblocks

same street

>because everyone lives in a house their family built
this sounds good, but probably means that people are too poor to afford to pay a company

which city user

Now comes the hard part, 100 meters down in the same street

Probably. But the way people speak about EE (especially what they taught us at school) has people thinking we're all miserable and dying there. Not saying it's a paradise but no one I knew was miserable and dying. The streets look like shit but every kid has a computer, phone, etc.

Makes me wonder if countries like BG will ever improve their infrastructure though, or if they'll just get worse

Here's a nicer image of the same town

Comfy

they arent that commie tee bee aitch

It's funny seeing people trying to find bad parts of their towns, it's nothing compared to eastern europe lel

another cosy picture

...

balconies look cute af

No one believes that you're miserable and dying on the streets. But if the difference weren't so great, we wouldn't have millions of immigrants in Western Europe.

Oh they do nowadays and they're all mostly pretty nice and sturdy unlike McMansions in America.

>city
Not sarajevo

...

Okay, that looks good, I'd admit. I still don't believe that your average Bosniak has that for himself.

this is where half of the muslims live in my city

I go here to a mall

but which one man im curious

Some buildings not, but others yes.

What I want to say is that the communist architectural inspiration along with the negligence and conformism of the society has allowed to destroy great part of our cities, and eye that this is of a town with a high purchasing power in the region, then you go to other places And you see hell.

Now I will put my provincial capital, considered one of the ugliest cities in Spain

On the way

If if I could show you every house in my municipality I would. I think the interior of homes look nicer here tho

...

...

Somewhere between Cazin and Bihac

Near the river

we are far apart then
im from gorazde

most germans don't own their own appartment, much less their own house
but most bosniaks do

i guess wealth is relative desu

...

My acquaintance from Germany said it's because it's just easier to rent. You can the change place with a work, pay less taxes etc.

.

That one was renovated by Akelius (you can see the logo on the bottom right) and rents were increased, probably to get rid of the low income Tibetans.

close to Güngören tier but still not as bad

We don't have commie blocks

Hmm?

youtube.com/watch?v=Xxn9-IPJsS4

>most germans don't own their own appartment, much less their own house

How did that happen? When I think of Germany I think of those comfy villages with the wooded pattern homes.

This is real life?

here in new york a lot of the public housing looks like commieblocks, especially in the bronx but i dont go there much
these always remind me of commieblocks

Here's Berlin.

arent these from gta iv i remember a mission in one of these

They're based on the same Le Corbusier's "towers in a park" principle just like the commie blocks. What makes them horrible are the types of tenants.

pls kill me

serious?

I was thinking in my state. I don't care about other states

C O M F Y

>Güngören
no, trust me, is worst.
At least your buildings have roofs

...

buildings maybe
tenants not so much

At least they're painted/well taken care of. Honestly I hate this type of city planning/types of buildings. I much prefer pic related, late 19th/early 20th century city planning and architecture .

Norilsk city, -42 C

lived in a commieblock till I was 4 years old, then we moved to a family house with a nice big garden

still, while going to work or into the downtown I pass by lots of commieblocks, this one's by far the biggest - it's the largest commieblock in the country, actually, housing 3,000 people

Rate the commieblock in which I live.

Looks great

Germany has a very low home ownership rate, because of WW2.

...

I envy you. My commieblock is even worse

You should move here.
