This one is the most comprehensive and states that the major one is R1b at 26%, yet J2 and E1b1b trail closely behind at 23% and 20.5% respectively. This conflicts with the previous study I linked that said Sicily was 16.7% J2. However the conclusion reached was the same, that mainland Italy has even higher frequencies of J2, in particular Marche, Umbria, and Calabria.

This one is actually a bit more interesting due to Norman (at that time mostly French genes, far removed from Scandinavian origin) usage of Sicily as a glorified convenience mart for Crusaders on the way to Jerusalem. Sicily is simultaneously the most J2 MENA'fied region and one of the more heavily Germanic regions.
