Is it a line from some science fiction novel? It sounds like a character merged with a monster but he wanted to be a normal human being again. The speaker is pointing out that it is impossible and he will always be half-monster and half-human.

Had to vent that a little, I feel enormous respect for those who are higher up on the mountain that is the Japanese language.
I didn't use valuable for metaphysical meaning. I used it as something that could generate cash eventually, which means something that can add values to your resume later on to increase your salary. Everybody can learn in any kind of situation, of course, but there is not much room to increase your salary if you teach English in Japan. This is what I wanted to say. I know, money is not everything blah blah blah, but I think it is wiser to start a job you can work and learn at the same time. Hope you can understand what I want to say. Anyway, it's your life and your life belongs to only you, so you can do whatever you like and you should not care what other people think.

Anyway, I think remembering how to pronounce things is basically the same as remembering how to read kanji. It's not difficult, it just takes time.

I've been reading about teaching English a lot and I usually don't hear many bad things about it (besides not getting much respect, but I'm an American so it's not like I get much respect as a teacher here anyway)
What exactly is so bad about it?
Also I've heard a bunch of times that the hours are pretty relaxed and only get much over 40/50 hours a week if you do extra tutoring and stuff
My cousin taught English in Korea for about 5 years and had nothing but good things to say about it, is it any worse than there?
