but the truth is there is no way to improve the league while it's ultimately under the control of unseen ownership with cloudy motives.

bundesliga is the worst competition in sports

nba is worst in burger sports

Bundesliga has the best matchdays week to week and if you care more about the actual on-the-field sport than the pageantry of a league then you're watching Bundesliga.

the pot calling the kettle black. I'd say la liga is easier to fix than the NBA, though. Just end Real Madrid and everything related to it.

if lack of competition were the only problem... but the NBA right now is unwatchable. All teams chucking threes, infinite timeouts making games last for more than 3 hours. it's really the worst competition all things considered. Very poor product

Kill yourself, you povertyball shit.

The problem is that it already is "fixed".

Considering how hard the NBA is pushing to legalize sports gambling....really makes you think.

>implying I only watch/play soccer
Try again, DaQuan Shmrrt Skrrt Fugg Nigga Thompson Brown III

1. Cut down on the amount of games person season. Heavily, I'm talking getting rid of about a dozen games.
2. Make the playoffs bigger, not just East vs West Coast centered. (Very unlikely to actually happen, but whatever)
3. Thats about it

1) Add 2 four-point "circles" on each side of the court between the 3 point line and half court.

2) Get rid of gay rules that helps guards score more points that were implemented in the 2000s.

3) Get rid of goal tending to resurrect the center/power forward positions.

Welcome to the Ball era

>cut the league down to 12 teams (NY, LA, Chicago, Philly, Dallas, San Francisco, Boston, DC, Atlanta, Phoenix, Miami, Seattle)
>every player currently in the league goes into a giant draft pool
>teams pick until they've assembled a team of 12 players
>those who don't get picked are relegated to a minor league
>these new super teams play a 41 game schedule
>everyone plays everyone
>teams with the two best records at the end of the season play a 7 game series to crown a champion

Keep team caps, but remove limits on individual player salaries. Right now, there isn't that much of a sacrifice required to join a superteam.

Dude - could you conside posting on Sup Forums? I really need your flag...

do me a favor and make a post on Sup Forums so that I can collect you

Eyy, we think alike

good for you, humble muslim taxi driver

MULTIBALL

more chimpouts

not that user, but how does questioning the NBA's nonsensical 'salary cap' system have anything to do with Sup Forums?

Will do

Some people save the country flags of unique posters they see (like s.4cdn.org/image/country/ck.gif), but apparently only on certain boards.

I collect rare flags, but only from the Sup Forums board. I saw his flag on here, and since I don't have it, I'd like him to post there so I can nab it.

>mfw waiting for this rare flag to make his post

Less nigs

>Divide the 2 confs into 4.
>Every team from each conf plays each other equal times. No *teams closest to each other play more games bullshiet*.
>Make the play off spots 8 in total. 2 from each conference.
>Somehow create a punishment system for the bottom team of each conference. Relegation isn't gonna happen since teams pay to join the league, but find something to stop the 76ers bullshitte.
>Force the teams into allowing their players to join their National Teams. There is nothing more honorable for some players than to wear their country's colours. Americans don't seem to understand that.

it's a nba fixing thread not basketball as a sport.

>how you fix it
>somehow create a system
Real helpful

>Americans don't seem to understand that.
Still dominate international basketball. I wish our baseball players played international competitions more though.

You think of an International FIBA competition as a camp of some of your best players. I doubt anyone gives a f*ck since you all know you re gonna win it. And you re not the only one who knows it.
Most National teams don't have the amount of decent players you do, and when a team does not allow a Serbian/Croatian/Spanish player to join his NT , the team gets weaker.

Imagine Greece having a player like Giannis and not having him in its roster.

but you just got it here?

I am autistic ok I can't collect the flag unless it's on Sup Forums

>somehow create a system:
>Money fee?
>Not allow them to take part in Draft?
> 2 seasons in a row last - kick from the league?

I dont wanna sugest because simply I am not fully aware of what is healthy athleticism and just rules and what isn't.

that is very autistic yes

would make more sense to collect it on Sup Forums 2bh

All of those points are regarding the NBA. Shouldn't you be working to pay debts?

3's are exciting and fun to watch. I'm sorry every game can't be a 1-0 defensive slug fest.

>3's are exciting and fun to watch

only if you're a casual

not even close, Ref's have alot more power per call they can make in soccer, but ref's can so easily fix a basketball game to one teams advantage it's retarded

Institute fighting like they do in hockey. Make the 'penalties' heavier on the player so we don't end up with 4-5 dead nignogs per game.

>how would you fix it
Contract half the teams in the league
Institute a hard cap
Extend rookie contracts

NBA status: FIXED

>You don't like what I like
>C-casual
Shut up go watch divegrass.

End the East vs West division. Free for all playoffs.

they really aren't because they are the least statistically to go in. That being said, they are still considered valuable enough in weight where attmepting them is still beneficial to the team.

You're thinking of very specific and minute instances of "exciting" 3's. Most three's no one cares about or remembers, and no one remembers the 66% of 3's that are missed.

The context of what it means to attempt a 3 vs a midrange vs a layup vs a dunk also means they you have the least valuable form of play buildup to see a successful 3.
3 pointer plays often have very little individual player build up, and are more reliant on passing the ball and finding an open man.

After every year theres a new draft and every player is eligible

this would be amazing for 2-3 seasons, then everyone would get so sick of it instantly. The owners would hate it, the players would fucking despise it, but the fans would absolutely love it.

what is the problem with nba OP?

This is what sports is. If you want to arbitrarily add new rules to make the good teams bad then what you want is not sports, but something completely different

>Passing finding the open man then draining one deep
Vs
>One guy dribbling the ball for almost the entire shot clock then charging into the key only to make it to the hoop half the time and the other half flop and pretend he was slugged by Mike Tyson
Again we can each have our opinions about what we like, doesn't make anyone of a casual

/thread

>3) Get rid of goal tending to resurrect the center/power forward positions.
You forget that most players are tall enough/jump high enough to catch 3's before they land in the hoop.

The NBA has been arbitrarily adding new rules since forever though. Maybe adding the clock, goal-tending, 3 sec defensive violation and the 3 point line ruined basketball forever. They always overreacted to freak stuff (a one in a lifetime player dominating, low scoring in one season, etc) that gets corrected with time. Imagine soccer revamping all its rules in the days of catenaccio

Probably the most insecure league out there. They've made so many rules and regulations that it resembles an abortion.

>Goal tending ruined basketball
Without goaltending the center would just stand around the basket and swat away all shots, which would eliminate any kind of shooting. Shot clock is also a good rule as it stops teams from just passing the ball 100 times

Change the rules to favor post players more. Give them more time to operate in the paint. There used to be 5 seconds in the paint and now it's 3. Then you'll be seeing teams use a lot more post play so they can compete without being a meme chucker 3 point fest. More variety will equal more competitive teams.

Rich coming from an apehoop faggot

I think he just meant "use the international rule for goaltending"

aka "interacting with the ball while it's still above the ring is allowed as long as the player's hand doesn't pass above the ring (after the ball bounced of the ring, of course)"

>Institute a hard cap
w/o this no other improvements would matter.

Hoop.

>Without goaltending the center would just stand around the basket and swat away all shots,
>You forget that most players are tall enough/jump high enough to catch 3's before they land in the hoop

How is this a bad thing? It'd be no different than having a goalie in hockey.

Sure no team would score 100, but I could still see games being 15-20 or something, making the game more competitive overall.

this desu, right now if a player is worth more than a max salary he still only gets the max salary.

Let's say Player A is worth 50% of a team's cap (like Lebron) but the max contract is 25% of the team's cap, while Player B is worth exactly 25% of the team's cap... both are getting paid the same even though one is worth twice as much as the other

If one team gets two of those guys on one team they're only paying 50% of their cap for 100% worth of players... which means there's no incentive for these players to not team up and dominate.

Yes.

Eliminate max contracts. Implement a hard cap.

Simple.

right? Lebron is currently making about 30mil, and Clev is 50mil over the salary cap.

How is this a sport again?

It's more Globetrotters/Generals than a fair contest.

All of those things improved the game. I'm so glad the game is about spacing and ball movement now instead of 20 second isos and post ups

I've literally never seen a center dunk on another center in the past 15 years of watching basketball.

Now people only dunk on fast breaks or when they get a completely open cut to the basket. What's the deal with that?

>All of those things improved the game.
yeah it 'improved' it so much we have had an almost unwatchable playoffs.

Could also do away with cap. It works in baseball.

one player can't affect the game in baseball like they can in BBall.

They can't in any sport desu.

I feel like the 66 game season we had 5 years ago was perfect. 82 is too many.

If you don't get a hard on from watching people jump 3 inches in the air and throwing a ball into a hoop from 23.75ft and sometimes further, you don't know SHIT about sports.

This is a bad meme. Drafting and building a solid team is absolutely necessary. Adding one guy to put you over the edge is the same in all team sports. There is a reason why LeBron jumped teams twice because he knew it takes more than one. And if the prices are all being driven up by non capped teams there still won't be a 3 or 4 super star team. Even ny couldn't afford that much.

gay

Take LeBron off the Cavs and they don't make it out of the East

Durant left OKC and they went from contender to first round exit

fucking this

>Americans complain that soccer is boring because "muh 0-0 scores"
>Watch basketball instead
>Points scored every 1.5 seconds
>It's more surprising when an attack DOESN'T result in a score
>Endless shots, zero defence, zero tactics

Daily reminder that basketball is on watchable for people with undiagnosed ADHD.

>This simplistic of an analysis
Kek

>Ey mayne try to shove dat nigga out da way so I can throw the ball at the hoop, shieeeet

muh strategy
muh tactics

Nigga please. One player can absolutely change the fate of a franchise.

Yeah just like one qb can make you a contender... If you have the pieces. Ask Rodgers or Stafford about that one. LeBron never won a chip without all stars and mj never won one without pippin. Ideally a championship caliber basketball team has always had 2-3 studs. Kobe/Shaq, kobe/gasol, Parker/Duncan etc. Etc. So at any given time truly great teams starting lineups are at least 40% all stars.

Oh, because American analysis on soccer is super deep

They can't. No one player can turn an NFL team around. Best QB in the world will suck if the line sucks.

Put Lebron on any team in the NBA though and they at least make the playoffs.

Get rid of any salary cap in American sports.

American sports = literally and unironically socialist

Put rod god on any team. Niners/browns/Rams included and they make playoffs. Packers roster without Rodgers is niners/browns tier.

>says the guy who lives in the country with La Liga

lol

change the 3 point line to 4, 2 worth 3

Nigga plz.

If you don't have a left tackle doesn't matter who is under center.

Stop media memeing

I can't believe the NHL playoffs doesn't destroy the nba playoffs in ratings. Almost every NHL playoff semi-final has been great, and the NHL isn't obviously rigged

really drives me nuts how every sports league in this country basically has the same formula for how the league should work like thats the only possible way to make the maximum amount of revenue

Ratings aren't real.

Who knows what the real truth is.

Lots of empty seats at a lot of the NBA playoff games this year.

you can see the ball in basketball though

ice hockey just isn't a spectator sport

>Implying even the worst teams don't have left tackles
>Implying the niners and browns don't have better left tackles than the assy packers line
Do you watch football? just stop dude.

Unless you're retarded or blind it's impossible to not be able to follow the puck

ratings are up. legends are being born. there's nothing to fix.

GOOD left tackles retard.

There is a reason those dudes get paid out the ass.

You can't be this stupid.

It's impossible.

let's just end the (((ratings))) meme
