define engaging

The Revenant

mite b green room tbhfam

Being intellectually and emotionally invested, intensely focusing, feeling compelled.

The most recent movies I really got engaged into were

Texas, Paris (rewatch, not seen in many years)
Blue Velvet (rewatch, not seen in many years)
Pale Flower
Klute

That's just for the past few months, fuck if I can remember all the engaging movies I've seen over 5 fucking years.

Stanford Prison Experiment

A serious man

Fail-Safe for sure.

I completely forgot I was watching a movie with actors "acting", Lumet is amazing with directing actors.

The ending sequence made me sit in my chair for a good 5 minutes after the movie just processing everything.

If we are talking only about the strongest emotional engagement then The Hunt.

Maybe Leviathan, the russian one

Under the Skin. Most films have been shit though.

Interstellar
Not that intellectually investing, but the emotions were there.
+ I love space...

yeah probably this

Hotel for Dogs, I guess.

It managed to capture that late 80s-early 90s family movie tone that I grew up with in the late 90s, despite coming out in 2009. Teared the fuck up.

Birdman

Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Also, Her.

The Five Year Engagement

Hard To Be A God

>Texas, Paris
What did he mean by this?

Decent movie.

Absolute faggot. Interstellar was garbage. Not even worth watching.

>Her
See above. You have terrible taste and you're probably a faggot.

Birdman for me as well. I couldnt take my eyes off of it.

>Interstellar

this fucking scene freaked me out: u.nya.is/jtesbn.webm

Shin Godzilla

>freaked me out
For what reason?

the neon demon

dis movie

It was Fury Road and if your knuckles didn't turn white from gripping the arm rests, you

have

no

pulse

High And Low

This, everyone talked about how they thought the political stuff dragged, but I was more engaged and invested in that than any action scene from a blockbuster in the last 5 years

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Triumph of the will

absolutely shit taste, plebs.
