Instrument

Anyone know exactly what this is? Made by carl Fischer in Germany but I can't find the exact model or name anywhere.

Put together:

A flute?

Yes but it also has 6 holes like a fife

I was going to say an oboe but the mouth is the same shape as the rest of it

a lot of 'classical' instruments were and are not made in a factory in batches of a 'make/model'
they're handmade by a instrument maker/luthier
your best help would be finding one specializing in woodwinds to help you trace it back

So does your mother.

Thanks for the advice. I know some people who might know more.

What does it sound like?

It seems to be a 19th century traverso. Check oldflutes.com/19C-keys.htm

Wow good one bro. You just get out of middle school?

Sounds like a typical modern flute but I'm a brass player so I can't get much noise out of it.

Just kidding. :)

Im a flautist can I have

Nah it's my deaceased grandfather's

Also a flutist here. Just try it. if you can blow a sound with an empty bottle you can do this too. I'm self taught and it took me just under 20 minutes to make my first sound with my flute. It might be fun to play this especially if you already have background in brass

piccolo?

I've been messing around and I managed to play hot cross buns :)

That is most definitely a flute

Any idea what kind?

A quick Google says it's a common wooden flute made by Emil Rittershausen in Germany, formerly sold by Carl Fischer Music in the US. Obviously an old instrument, could t find a model number or anything.

its a clarinet

Pretty sure it's a bass flute of some kind.

Ayy, lovely! If I were you I'd play it a few times and then show off my skills to people who'd have no idea what the instrument is

Bass flute would be larger, wouldn't it? At least the western ones are massive

Thanks bro you're a real nibba
