1999+17

>1999+17
>not being a skilled tradesman

Why aren't you working in the only occupational field that is uncuckable?

people who do this shit barely make 15/hr bro

>work with spics all day
Uncuckable my ass

>working with degenerates

No thanks guy.
I did my time in the trenches and I won't go back to working with addicts, retards. and ex-cons.

No thanks. I likelike makeing more money working in an office.

Military?

Maybe in shitty places and only during apprenticeships. Journeyman plumbers here make ~$35/hr on average.

>spics
>skilled trades

Are you retarded? They do unskilled manual labor. Hardly any of them are certified tradesmen.

>addicts, retards. and ex-cons.

Addicts and ex-cons have no chance of becoming licensed by the state. Apprenticeships have background & drug screenings. You also need a pretty clean driving record since a lot of the sector has technicians going to various sites.

Boring

Even if you're unskilled, anyone can get a job with a fucking railroad and they'll pay you during training too.

Nope, at least the military has the decency to disqualify the ex-cons.

Spics are starting to creep their way into the skilled trades too.

Yeah in general construction.
Like 85% of the people I work with are white. But I work as a overhead lineman.
I started at $23/hr. I know my union starts helpers at $15/hr. But you only work for 4days and you have school on the 5th.
>Tfw I make more than the engineers who design electrical grids and draft our blueprints
Feels good man.

even in america? railroad doesn't sound bad. although i imagine they work 10-15 hour days 6 days a week

>Addicts and ex-cons have no chance of becoming licensed by the state. Apprenticeships have background & drug screenings.

AYY I've seen journeyman and apprentices alike that would show up to sites reeking from the night before. And drug screenings don't mean shit when the foreman lets clean apprentices drop pee for the fuck ups.
Even the foremen are just glorified prison guards and tard wranglers.

Yeah bro. My friend got hooked up with TCU and they paid him to get his cdl. He makes $36/hr fucking with railroad signals. And he is only 22.

Running trades a pretty slow right now but should pick up by fall. They hire heavy duty mechanics, car repairmen, equipment operators, and conductors here with no prior experience.

I'm a locomotive engineer. When I show up for work they have us up to ten hours. Sometimes we're done earlier. We're paid by the mile so you earn the same amount regardless. You can take 24 hours off after every shift if you really want.

Not a job for someone with kids or a family, but for a young guy that doesn't need a set schedule it's awesome.

still workin on my ged but ill def look into it. id the free traininga thing too or just a meme?

yes
go into electrical work for decent pay/working conditions and good job security against robots

Not a meme, they just make you work slave hours.

That sounds like a special anecdotal case.

Go ahead, try getting an apprenticeship anywhere in the country while pissing hot and/or having a criminal record. It won't happen.

>Even the foremen are just glorified prison guards and tard wranglers.

By "foremen" you mean masters, right? And no, we don't take care of the guys under us. They hand us our tools, shut up, and learn on the job/in the classroom.

Your parents are better examples of tard wranglers.

Railroad work in the US is pretty volatile. Layoffs happen all the time.

Yeah they paid for his.
I got my cdl by spending 8 months in coon corps so there is also that if you want to go live for free.

>fuck up once
>crispy

Yeah, it's volatile if you work non-union. But those union railroad folk are fucking spoiled. They have almost double the benifits I do as a union lineman.

Make shit for a living
Machinist here
Can literally make anything

22 here, working for a general contractor right now at $15/hr, but hoping to be a union carpenter eventually.

It's pretty good work. Exercise, some fresh air, don't have to worry about annoying female coworkers.

I was a union plumber before I got a maintenance plumber gig at a hospital. It was awesome but I like this work a lot more.

you won't get electrocuted doing electrical work unless you fuck up big time or are doing high tension shit

Can you make gf?

How much do machinists make in states?

>implying electricians don't get cucked by illegal spics who will do the job for a ridiculously low price and not up to code in the slightest

oh yeah, that's another plus - all the drooling mongoloids you would find in the other trades die during their apprenticeships. Truly the most alpha trade.

How tight of a tolerance can you hold?

Is it true you guys let the helpers take all the scrap copper?

Not if you are doing residential or commercial. All you do is flip breakers.
Now my job you get cooked inside out if you fuck up.
Soon I'll be working on powerlines where I will be vaporized in a glorious 20ft fireball that will destroy the helicopter I will be dangling from. Fun shit.

Literally this.

Tradesmen all have the same lame ass jokes too

>Hey Tony, Jonny over here said you eat shit sandwiches for lunch
>I told him, I said, Jonny you lyin' asshole.Tony doesn't like bread!
>Hahahahaha!! Do ya get it Tony?

>who will do the job for a ridiculously low price

it's not that they do it for less, the welfare they take in makes up the difference

I am and its great.

All I ever see carpenters make is temporary shit for the jobsite.. hole covers, rails, etc. Must be depressing. I love amazing beautiful woodwork but you just never see it anymore.

Do you know how to make firearms?

Bet he could build you a real nice cuckshed.

Maybe a little door for the glory hole? That would be keeyooot

Cool story. I work as a kitchen & bath designer and our business should pull at least ~400K in profits this year. I own 50% of the company. We are expanding soon and those cucked tradesmen we hire aren't making nearly as much.

If you want to be compensated well, start a business with high margins and work hard to get clients over the years. It's the best path to wealth imo.

Could be accounting, legal work, software services, or whatever just avoid any debt early on so you can escape wage slavery and work for yourself.

I worked for a large design firm till 28yo and wish I got out sooner. Am 31yo now.

Oh shit I've heard about this. Helicopter linemen. Insane.

Congrats on your success user!

Depends on the foreman/company. But yes it happens. When I first started we demo'd a shit ton and split the take. Its a nice little bonus.

Draw me a toilet, faggot.

>Tfw I make more than the engineers who design electrical grids and draft our blueprints
Their earning potential is much higher than yours

>qualified as an electrician
>using that qualification to pay my way through uni to become an engineer
>if engineering fails I can always fall back onto the trade

Being a sparky is a decent paying job, but I don't want to be doing it forever

>NEETs and wageslaves think themselves too good to actually work for a living

I make 30

>Being a wageslave
>Not making the money work for you

how did you get into the skilled trade, anons?

after I finish studying philosophy for personal edification I want to go back to working with my hands, but I want to do something better than general labor / custodial work (which I did for 4 years before going into university)

>telling the plebs who wish to be babysoft for the rest of their lives about the real redpill

Let the children remain children.

Threads like these just prove how stupid tradies are.
Keep telling people to join the trades so they can flood the labor market and drastically lower your wages. No wonder you fucks couldn't hack it in school.

What is your major?

Women's Studies.

...

Hey if a $100k/year job doesn't fall into my lap I could always learn a trade.

Because when I was growing up I was told if I didn't go to a mainstream college and get a desk job I'd be a failure

I charged a guy about $300 (R4500) just to set the timing on a cummins isx. Took less than 5 minutes because it was already in stripped state.

>15/hour
>Ok

This
I don't know what started this mind set but it is retarded

Been applying for apprentice positions for the past year, no response. Probably going to go to university instead.

Git gud
Cubicle cuck
Brainwashed

Agreed, I actually enjoy that my generation and younger turned into pussies and decided to work with computers or cubical jobs. The last thing I need is oversaturation of workers in my field.

what?

Im a 2nd year pipefitter apprentice, and i make $34 an hour plus LOA plus travel money

what the fuck are you smoking? do you think everyone makes the same McDonalds burger flipper rate that you do?

get a trade that requires brains and you wont have to deal with them

Conventional or CNC? Idk much about cnc but I hear decent enough. Like mid thirties an hour. If you're smart as a mechanic you'll get into a power plant as a maintenance mechanic or similar trade /workplace and you can get compensated very well. I was a nuts and bolts mechanic making 70k in NYC and swapped into ops after passing the test. Make 110k base after built in overtime and night shift differential. Ops is rotating 12s but maintenance is straight days.

>Soon I'll be working on powerlines where I will be vaporized in a glorious 20ft fireball that will destroy the helicopter I will be dangling from. Fun shit.
I love being in the oilfield.

>600V service fucked up somehow
>Hey guy, you know how to turn on a multimeter, right? Go fix that shit, and hurry. Every hour we're down costs $20,000

Unless they have a doctorates or dual masters then nope. Ive had coworkers make 233k the year new Orleans got hit by katrina but they where working 70hr weeks. But if I can become a foreman of a helicopter lineman crew then I will definitely still make more than most of them ever will.

You wanna go union. Figure out what trade seems cool. Electricians and plumbers are versatile and work in cool places. Steam fitters and millwrights do cool stuff as well. Elevator constructors are versatile and make more money than anyone I know in NYC and maybe California. Stationary engineering is cool because you're a jack of all trades. Google for a union apprenticeship in your area. Like ibew "your state" locations. If you're in a right to work state I don't know. Probably craigslist searching for apprenticeship or helper positions where you're fucked wage wise because there aren't unions.

What is the most in-demand trade? I know electricians are saturated as fuck now

Listen to this guy and start your own business and let the trade cucks do all the heavy lifting while you reap the benefits.
If 4chins is anything to go by you could make a killing designing and building cucksheds constructed using strictly artisan techniques.

I thought you should be more concerned about your tanned compatriots..

Only residential ones are. Specialized industrial and power lines need people really bad since all the boomers there are retiring. But boilermakers and wastewater are two more I can think of.
My company is starting to give sign on bonuses for journeyman lineman now since there isn't enough people to do that anymore since all the a class are all quiting.

Seems like if you're in a trade, having your own business is the end game. My friend's dad retired when he was 43 because of his plumbing business.

Yeah I do HVAC and I get to take all the scrap coopper

It is. Like if you're a master electrician, the vast majority of your work will just be inspecting and signing off of the work that the journeymen and such are doing under you.

A mans gotta eat brah, besides with the darkies fucking us up big time economically we all are going to bite the bullet eventually.

>work hard to get clients over the years

How exactly do you do this?

Do good work
Be reliable
Charge a fair price (note that a fair price does not imply a low price -- as a matter of fact, you can fuck yourself by doing jobs for cheap)
Network...get buddy buddy with general contractors (dunno if y'all have the same kind of thing, but they're the guys over construction projects in the US), designers, plumbers, and just in general
Always. Be. Closing.

Because I don't want to be around working class people.

>become specialised in a low IQ field
Why would you do that?

So how do you get into this stuff? The way I hear it you just sign up with the union, they have some kind of interview / aptitude test and then when a spot is open for you they start you on some combination of training and wage.

Is that correct, I don't have to start by going to college or even trade school? I can just sign up and start with some combination of entry-level work and classes (that you also get paid for)? That sounds sweet. I've been working in IT for 10 years and just got up to 17/hr, but I'm really sick of it.

because skilful workers cost shit tons of money, low IQ field or not.

>Went all through high school bring guided into college
>Even took college level courses to prep
>Get to college for Engineering
>STEM teachers spoke worse English than ditchdigger spics
>Ironically the only good professor I had was in a history based class taught by a woman
>Used to actually being taught in HS, not used to learning solo
>Drop out

Now I'm contemplating a tradeskill, though not sure what. Maybe welding, or electrician work. Someone mentioned machining earlier.

Any opinions on trades?

Was also thinking about getting IT certs, but maybe I don't really want to deal with plugging in mice all day and not being respected at all.

Guys in this thread are saying the work for $35 an hour. That isn't that much.

Depends on the field and where in the country you are.
Some unions have waiting lists years longs for apprenticeships.

in what world is that not good enough.

>not being respected at all.

You think being a blue collar worker will be any different.

If you're single it's probably more than you'll know what to do with.
But you can't raise a family on that shit.

Can a bro help me out? How do I go about getting a trade?

The first world, you wouldn't understand.

Story time?

>be me
>fucking white male
>go to trade school to be electrician
>most contractors in my area do business with
>federal government
>diversityquota.blend
>can't get a job after a year of searching
>try to get on with local iron workers union
>also federal contracts, and therefore
>culturallyenriched.pixar
>talk to local hiring agency
>"they'll only take a white male
>if he receives government assistance."
>get food stamps
>go to this weird-ass work camp
>which is a week-long try-out where the union
>takes who they want from a huge pool
>women and minorities
>they are weak and don't work hard
>get hired anyways
>one of three white males to get hired
>boss is mexican
>always cursing at me, calling me names
>much to amusement of his fellow mexicans
>one female worker in our outfit
>she flirts with mexican boss while he
>smokes cigs and stands around all day
>I am literally wiping sweat out of my eyes
>while this slimy spic
>flirts with this disgusting do-nothing
>girl-power feminist
>for 8 hours

I couldn't take that shit for more than a month, OP is a faggot who has never worked for a federal contractor.

72k + wife's 50k = Enough for you and 2 children

>having a wife that works
>only having two children

You're a failure as man and a Finn.

Is this really true, how often is there a barbeque?

>having full grown human under your shoulder

I'm not a charity service, you work or you get the fuck out.

You mean ironworkers, right?

only disrespected aspect of IT is tier 1
once you're past that the money is breddy gud and you're not stuck removing viruses from some dumb cunt's netbook all day
also you can be a complete fucking menace in the right circumstances, you'll be feared rather than looked down upon

>blaming all your problems on your skin color

No better than niggers

Majority of the time IT gets treated like trash because you're blamed whenever anything goes wrong, and not even acknowledged when everything is gravy.

There are tradeskills that garner respect because they require skill and/or expertise that consumers generally want.

Half the degrees that are pumped out of colleges now are dead ends anyway.

I'm a salesperson.

Kill me.

I basically suck up to rich pooinloos and chinky-pies all day for money.
