It's a manga that's been running for 20+ years now, and it's pretty incredible. One of the things that's most interesting about it, is that the author has basically reinvented himself in his style several times throughout the series, while still keeping it true to its roots. During the first 10 volumes (referred to collectively as the "Golden Age" arc), it's basically gritty 80s style manga of purely dark medieval warfare, becoming borderlined historical fiction. but in volumes 11-12+ literally hell opens up and pours itself onto earth evil dead style but in a completely serious manner. Over the next ~5 volumes you have every bit of bad in his world corrupted and risen to full blown demonic rape-fests; corrupt priests burning everyone at the stake, packs of roving goblins kidnapping women, raping and impregnating them to make more monsters, an evil god-emporer who tries to take over the world etc. It then turns into a traditional swords/sorcery fantasy where Guts assembles a team of rag-tag heroes to destroy the five God Hands of hell, one of whom was his best friend and rival during the Golden Age.

I've been kinda following since chapter 59 I think, and I didn't browse Sup Forums until then, I just went to see the state of the board and except for this gem, it's worse than I expected. Things really do change in 3 years.

But yeah, I've been here just about every day for ~7 years now (5 and a half doing threads), and man it's gone through some changes..
Was never good, but it used to be more enjoyable, that's for sure. A damn shame.

We've been getting new Berserk chapters about once a month for a while now, relatively consistently. We're up to Chapter 354 now, and some pretty crazy awesome plot changes just happened, definitely worth catching up on.
There's really no good threads I've come across. I still come here several times a day and comb through all the pages, but there's usually nothing worthwhile.
I made home on Sup Forums for a few years but left since it was a pretty shitty place to talk about stuff. It was the only board that I could really participate in, since I've watched a ton of shows. I go on /an/, /jp/, /f/, /his/, /fit/, /ck/, /toy/, occasionally, just out of interests related to those boards. I'm not to the point where I can really participate though, so I just lurk some interesting threads here and there. Wish I had a homeboard. Never really got into the /qa/, /vip/, /bant/ boards, just seems like a lot of circlejerking. Would be nice if they were more laid back about it, just seems really cliquey. Same way with circlejerk threads on Sup Forums.
Overall, I can't leave this site.
But Berserk threads are fun, been pretty quiet recently, used to have a lot of regulars, but I'm sure it'll shine again.

I have practically done the same as you did but wkth Sup Forums, same thing regarding conversations really. And about the /qa/, /bant/, /vip/ stuff, I used to browse /s4s/ when it started out but now it's just become a parody of itself, I don't see the point of them anymore.
