Different guy here, hl2 is really pretty dookie. Halflife, and to a lesser extent blueshift and opposing force were all actually really good. Hl2 was just so weak, the story was so far away from the original, and just stupid. The weapons weren't nearly as cool, the combine? Really? Trash tier enemies.

It does have unskippable cutscenes. There are segments where you can't leave the room and you can't progress the game, you have to sit through some guy spewing exposition at you for 20+ mins while you fuck with props. Teleporting a prop while some guy drones on about the combine or whatever gets old on the 3rd playthrough

Every half life game has been a milestone in the genre, I thought that was pretty fucking clear. I was simply referring to the 2nd game in the series because OP called it overrated. Historically the first game is obviously a much more important release.

Civ V I got for free. Still have it, still play occasionally. To clear my guilt, I bought Civ vi. Boring as fuck. You can;t even make your own roads. And too many tech/culture/whatever trees. couldn't play it, didn't try.
