>reversed cymbal

i like the whole genre of italo disco, it's pretty damn cliche

i always think an album's gonna get boring if it starts with a dumb "suspense" keyboard or so. It's a killer for me.

>female moaning

>bandmate beats his wife
every fucking time

>the sound of a radio tuner scrolling through stations

>tight
>tonight

>voice is filtered to sound like it's coming out of shitty speakers

>people saying random words

>distorted bassdrums

>studio banter kicks off the album

>double-tracked vocals where one track is slightly behind the other

>song has a "coming into focus" type gimmick where it starts off all distorted and quiet until it becomes clear and loud

>vocalist recites text from a famous work of literature
>voice samples that make sense in context, interacting with the music itself
>thematic continuity between songs in different albums

>skits with quotes from taxi driver / scarface / godfather etc.

>says the name of the album dramatically in the lyrics

> 4/4

>unexpected stevie wonder harmonica solo

>Instruments are cut out in the last pre-chorus

>hides the album title by singing it really drawn out

>album starts with some new-agey shit about working together and a common spiritual road to walk

>Song starts with the reversed sound of a guitar

> kick bombs (as in a massive amount of long reverb on a single bassdrum)

>samples of dialogue from old movies

>spoken word for about half a minute before the singing starts
>bandmates yelling stupid shit over the intro (the less audible, the better)
>song transforms into a wall of sound jam while the lead singer screams the same line over and over
>song has no solo

>Album has "Shoutout to those who listen to our music" track

>Song features the vocals of a member who has not sung before, not matter if they sing well or not.

My favorite version of the song.

pink floyd ?

>usual rock band experiments with disco and dance, usually to poor results
>studio banter at the end or start of tracks, bonus points if it's in the middle
>one of the bandmates says "Turn up the bass" or something and then the bassline kicks in
>saxophone solos
>Phil Collins like drum fills (a la In The Air Tonight)
>a dumb filler track on the record which lasts but a few feeble seconds but gets a good chuckle out of you
>Paul mcCartney chewing celery on a Beach Boys track

> melody or bassline is only two alternating notes that are the next semitone of each other for dark atmosphere

>Artist goes out of their comfort zone and releases an experimental/non-conventional album in their late career
>It becomes hated by the fanbase

>song starts with wind / walking through snow

> DX7

>Entire album is wind

>Singer sings a very cheery/positive song
>There's no dark undertone, it's all about positivity

>song features the phrase "lacerated sky"

chad

One of my fav bands senpai desu

>Album ends very abruptly (think Yanqui UXO)

My man

>techno LP
>ambient intro

>album closer is foreshadowed musically in small pieces of earlier tracks
>ending of the song is a stripped-down version of the main melody
youtube.com/watch?v=HI3QD5P8GgY

>sudden transition between tracks a la up my sleeves -> billy not really
mmf

>Loud, aggressive drum sound on a poppy record

>song has a vocoder in it

youtube.com/watch?v=4eNBgHMPsak

youtube.com/watch?v=sQZF7cinKJ8

>loud song
>breaks into a quiet acoustic version of the chorus near the end

>short ambient-ish intro that builds into the first real song on the album

thanks mate, i enjoyed that!

>Song has a part where it sounds like the singer is humming the tune to himself

>guitar soaked in reverb

>band members headphones are only coming out of one side

ive heard gybe using this a couple of times, its actually nice, very subtle

>pianist slides all the way down from the highest note to the lowest just before the chorus kicks in

distorted bass drums make me CUM

oof

>think Float On has some dark undertone that i'm not getting so i look it up
>Isaac confirms that it's just a happy optimistic song that means just what it says

yeah, same here...may take a few hours tho ;)

>guy introducing the singer

>singer is gay with his dad

IT'S UP TO ME NOW
TURN OUT THE BRIGHT LIGHTS

>last song on the album is the best song

HAHA WHAT

>mfw Lotus Eater

>last song on the album is the title track
Bonus points if it's also the last lyric

>glitch song and bongos start playing

>Paul mcCartney chewing celery on a Beach Boys track
is that real

Vega-Tables is the track

thanks user

>song's audio alternates between left and right channels

IM GONNA BE PERFECT FROM NOW ON

>builds an entire narrative and character structure with in-context quotes and dialogue from old shows

MM FOOD is so fucking good

>album starts with just drums and slowly fills in with the bass, guitars, and vocals

>Sample of an old man rambling about something.

>song falls within western musical tradition

>Bass/Drums/Everything but the melody drops out

the end solo on Hummer....

>denim jeans

Thick as a Brick must make you shit yourself

THE RINGING OF THE DIVISION BELL HAD BEGUN

>feedback at the end

not that bothered really

>that picture
Why do I get so udfydxdhxsffzfXafdt over it?

I love hate.

And also:
>Syrup mixes in pancakes and singer records it

Little movie samples in midwest emo music is pretty comfy stuff. Like the Superbad sample at the start of this one Boy Problems EP gets me every time.

>high pitched voices

>song has guitar solo, or any fucking solo for that matter
>song has bridge
>song has more than 2 chords

>song has a drum solo

Easily the worst part of Zepplin II.

CLOSE TO THE EDGE DOWN BY THE RIVER

>triplets in a drum fill

>can hear band talking among themselves either before or after the track
>can tell its live off the floor
>band mates are in fact friends in real life
