The point of these threads is to encourage people to look for new and interesting music. We do this by listening to and ideally discussing albums we've never heard before. Many of us already listen to new music daily, these people are in it to venture "out of their comfort zone" by listening to albums they otherwise wouldn't have, or just to have a good time.
1. Nothing over 2 hours (unless with special permission) 2. Can submit things I've already heard, but the ratings need to be well over a year old 3. From 'to do' not required but encouraged, as it's a list of things I'm interested in 4. I'm gay 5. I can say 'no' to anything for arbitrary reasons so be prepared to give me another rec if this is the case 6. Play nice
>Letov edition Heh, I'm listening to pic related right now. What a jumbled mess, but has some very good zolo+post-punk mishmash songs.
Isaiah Baker

SPOT LEFT
That's on my current chart but I think I can use that on my tourney anyways
Sebastian Hughes
Nah don't bother with the English. Maybe just to hear it for completion.
Hmmm I think my favorite right now is Vapen & Ammunition; it's not their most musically interesting probably, but it's just packed with great songwriting. The lyrics are great too, especially in my favorite off of the album, "Socker". Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking?
And nice quads
Ryder Evans
Chumbawamba - Pictures of Starving Children
Mason Hill
dear mr FlyingIceWizard: you still owe me one (1) rec for the second round of my tourney
Nathaniel Hall
I'm kinda curious now, so I'll probably try one or two albums, just to see how it works, maybe it's better for non-native swedish speakers, so I can understand some of the content?
>Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking? Switzerland, we somehow don't really have any interesting musical output
Henry Miller
no
Isaiah Gutierrez
What's wrong with him now? That album actually looks interesting

Why is Mitski so low?
Also ChemBros should be a perfect 10 unless it's the last tour that included songs from Born in the Echoes.
Austin Gomez
Mitski was just kinda boring. And your best american girl sounded super tame compared to the album version.
It was the latest ChemBros tour indeed. I loved it a lot. I jsut don't want to give out any 10/10s lol
Juan Ortiz
why did you post these
Connor Diaz
did something go wrong at the Madeon gig
Jaxon Martin
cannot imagine thinking anyone would care about these posts
Caleb Morgan
no he just played some really uninspired EDM lol
Luke Adams
how was Porter Robinson much more enjoyable then
Isaac Mitchell
Porter's set was great bc he played dope remixes of his own music and added like a story arc to his show lol. Also all the anime visuals spoke to my inner weeb.
Madeon just played a DJ set with random EDM bangers
Samuel Hall
>Japanese new music festival 8 Good, it was great
Isaac Murphy
you were apparently wrong
Camden Russell
lock me up
Tyler King
dude i only kinda knew acid mother temple before i went to the show it was like mindblowingly fun. when they started playing their pant zippers hahahah
Isaiah King
hahahah what haah
Charles Martin
at some point the guy took a camera in his left hand and a calimba in his right, stuck them together and said in the most japanese accent "Nuu Insutorumento Kamerarinuba"
Alexander Campbell
why did you post this?
Carson Lee
whoa thats hilarious
what?
Luke Anderson
Yeah and the fucking "Kamerimba" lmao. In the break my friend said "I'm gonna ask if I can eat the carrots they played on" so he went up and asked and they just looked at eachother and said "EAT CARROT?? HAHA YES!"
Luke Allen
why did you post this?
Dylan Flores
why NOT
William Wood
that's amazing. I don't think they played carrots at the show i was at.
I bought their compiration CD from the compiration CD jam. dont have it with me rn but i should upload that shit
Samuel Gomez
haha ok jimmy
Carter Lee
no bully :{}

One of those angsty weeks, v tired
What's your week like, daily
Yeah LCD was so dope, and FF was pretty good
I've seen Alex G open once and main act once, and I respectfully disagree
Brian Wilson is generous, the dude can't even read the lyrics off the teleprompter, let alone sing. It's a fun story to tell tho My friend and I still laugh about how genuinely happy he was to be able to say "this song has noooo singing!"
My friend saw Pinegrove in a basement show before they blew up and said they were pretty good, so that's weird
Worked a Glass Animals show once, would even bump that rating higher maybe. they're a blast
Interesting how Jamie xx was way better than the xx?
Also curious, why the 5 for NMH?
>
Juan Murphy
>Interesting how Jamie xx was way better than the xx? I mean, Jamie solo stuff is waaaaay better than all xx albums, so that's a given.
Jacob Stewart
This is true.
>compirations What the heck, are you making fun of asians
Eli Jenkins
yeah but stage presence and performance don't have that much to do with the music
I suppose you're right tho
Gavin Hall
p ok nice b&w pic but it do
Carter Wilson
...
Isaac Davis
crazy what a thugger feature can do
Brayden Stewart
I like that track but it does not belong on that album
Tyler Gray
>Alex G I just caught him at a fest last year. Felt kind of like generic indie folk. Hearing the new album would be interesting tho.
Yea Brian Wilson didn't really do much himself, but I still had a blast at the show.
Pinegrove was also at a festival and I'm just not into that kind of music.
>Glass Animals yea youre right i actually enjoyed that show a bunch. should be a 7.5 or so.
Jamie xx played a bunch of dope ass disco tracks, the xx were just the usual snooze-fest.
NMH i just saw mostly for the indie cred desu. It was a good performance, but im not a huge on them. should be higher i guess
Zachary Carter
Tom Rosenthal- Keep a Private Room Behind the Shop
Ryder Davis
this forreal. it was fun to listento that year, but now i always skip it...
Loud places too bc i overplayed the shit out of that song.
Gosh is the real shit. Jamie played Gosh mashed up with Nikes by Frank Ocean when he filled in for him at primavera that was perfecct.
Noah Murphy
angsty month angsty life listen to Career Suicide and Green Star sometime bruv
wrong it's that thug belongs on all other tracks on that album too
Owen Richardson

Aiden Foster
what's the best live shows ya'll have seen?
Sebastian Morris
Then Negativland-points
Liam Hernandez

Zachary Scott
then Renaldo and the Loaf- songs for swinging larvae
Brandon Brown
no
Brayden Ross
the vocals being cut off in the first track has to be the funniest serious thing I've heard in an album for the pasth month
don't bother he's looking for some regular trip
Ryan Jackson
I'm wondering how the album could have turned out if there were more features but I think it would have been quite awful
The Rest Is Noise is the best track on there and you will come to realize this in time
Jonathan Ward
then chuck person's eccojams
Ian Moore
I need a rec from someone who isn't user or a random newtrip
Henry King
I'm some user lurker who sometimes contributes to charts, not new but yeah it is a fun album :) Is Guava A Donut is top quality
Caleb Nelson
(nat) >Vegas Fountain but even more ambient mmmmmgonna get on that soon
(nat again) Manson's album is pretty fun even outside of the obvious historical implications of it. Enjoy Your Rabbit is sufjan's best imo. sunset tree and b 52s are also really good. bon iver is pretty boring.
(arra) flower boy manages to be both intensely melancholic and joyful. one of the better of the hip hop artists making r&b influenced stuff trend. Life Will See You Now has some bangers on it, but i can agree that it's slightly too twee for me to fully enjoy. will probably like his older stuff more.
>The Avalanches 5 that's a shame dan deacon live must be an experience
my cat recs chuck person's eccojams
Aiden Jackson
uhh off the top Darkside, Autechre x2, Paula Temple, Ben Ufo x Pangaea x Pearson Sound, QOTSA, Swans, D'Angelo, Sun Kil Moon, Arto Lindsay, Ceephax Acid Crew, Andy Stott, Jlin, Romare, Shackleton, Richard Dawson, Amnesia Scanner
Charles Rodriguez
I mean it's a good album, which is what matters in the end
Dominic Harris
I've heard eccojams ur cat is a n00b
Connor Richardson
couldnt have been much worse that album is fucking awful why did ppl get excited about it other than good times being on it
Christian Gonzalez
I've been to a few really great shows
Probably LCD cuz I was trashed and sang along to every song with like 4 of my friends who also mostly knew all the songs
The Districts were really fun too. Totally unlike their studio output. I've never seen a sweatier band. Had a surprisingly solid mosh there the first time I saw em
I also had a mind-blowingly good time crossed at a basement show, some band called Ava Luna and I can't even remember the other "main" act. I was just sitting there slack jawed, like an idiot, getting ruined by that music
Then I went home and listened to them sober and they sucked
Oh I also saw Tame Impala at the Capitol Theatre, which has projectors that cover the walls and ceilings, and their visuals were already ridiculous... and the music was great. No phones allowed too, which was wack
That's fair, I guess
And like a lot of indie rock, I don't think Alex G (or Pinegrove, probably) lend themselves to a festival setting. Like, it def helped to see FJM first at Gov Ball, he was a good warm up
Logan Bell
it's chill
Juan Rogers
I'm honoured!
Wyatt Bailey
if you've heard or made a judgement on every one of these then I'll throw up in my own cat food
Nolan Scott
Kvelertak, the second time; Dead Can Dance, Bruce Springsteen and Church of Misery.
Daniel Jenkins
so's no music
Isaac Perry
If I don't get an actual rec by the end of today I'm just gonna let rudi's mom join
:3
Zachary Rivera
no music is experimental
Logan Perry
why is fish so mean to anonymous
Isaac Bell
fuck you
Elijah Butler
yea that's a good one
they were played a DJ set, it was kinda disappointing. the pacing was very off. them dropping frontier psychiatrist was sick tho
>Then I went home and listened to them sober and they sucked This exact thing happened to me when I saw Woods open for The Walkmen but I wasn't even high. They just played a crazy improv set with live tape manipulations, and it wasn't even close to their recorded material. I've literally never been so disappointed.
In recent memory: Earthless Endless Boogie Tedeschi-Trucks Band w/ Warren Haynes sitting in
I only go see improvised music these days
Cameron Williams
venezuelan band called La Vida Boheme (fish would be delighted) shit was amazing, so much fucking energy in it and they made me sing my lungs off. Crowd was either shit or great, thankfully i was in the cool part
Adrian Phillips
mexican band San Pedro El Cortez fucking crazy dudes, the frontman got naked. they have a little doc on youtube
