He went after Mike's Dad because that was the little bit of humanity he had left. It resonated with him, he could recognize in Mike that same things that happened to him. Outside of that he was still a broken man with little empathy. Just look how ruthlessly he beat the shit out of Mike's Dad.

What was your guy's favourite season? I think season 3 was my favourite, but I surprised by how much I loved season 4. I was all ready to hate it cause >muh kids, muh schools but it was actually really engrossing. Presbylewski's redemption arc was incredible.

It's really hard for me to pick a favorite. 2, 3 and 4 are all really good for different reasons and are pretty close, 1 isn't far behind and 5 is definitely the weak season. I'll say 2 but I think my answer could change day to day.

It's still a good season user, just not as good as the rest but opinions.

One of my favorite (and most emotional) scenes is in season 5, when Mcnutty is about to leave "Donald" in the Philly shelter.
