I can appreciate both. Dark Tournament was clearly the pinnacle of the old shounen style, but I respect the Sensui arc for taking things in a new direction.
If you just keep increasing powerlevel, you end up with DBZ. It gets silly. The "New Psychics" in the Chapter Black arc made things interesting with their gimmicks because they made it more than just about power, there were more interesting situations.
They spent a lot of time developing Yusuke and Kuwabara during that arc, though. I feel like it's the weakest arc for Hiei, but Kurama gets on fine.
