>It has been delayed, and now is scheduled to release on May of 2017. >Bryan Fuller left >Concerns about the crew, and actors being SJW influenced >Original teaser rendered on a PS3
What do you think? What Trek series are you watching now?
Caleb Cruz
Star wars has literally always been about diversity and accepting communism you silly fool
Kayden Ramirez
>What Trek series are you watching now? Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu
Daniel Jenkins
>Bryan Fuller left Good. Looks like he prefers shitposting about Drumpf on twitter to making new Star Trek series anyway. >Concerns about the crew, and actors being SJW influenced Probably will be mitigated with Fuller out
Connor King
>Star wars
Lucas Powell
fuck you, star wars, trek, andromeda, xena warrior princess, firefly...all the same shit.
Zachary Peterson
I expect it to bomb for going on CBS all access, or whatever subscription service it will be on.
Tyler Collins
>throwing Xena in there kek
Brody Morris
I'm 95% sure it will suck, and 99% sure it won't be successful as long as it's limited to some subscription service no one gives a shit about
>What Trek series are you watching now? been watching a TOS episode here and there for the last few weeks, that's bout it
Wyatt Gutierrez
I would love to see a new Star Trek show if it would be as great as TNG/DS9, but if Fuller truly left so did my last hope of this potentially being any good.
At least it will get cancelled quickly and spare us another reboot for around a decade or so.
Joseph Hernandez
I just started watching DS9 for the first time. Its the only Trek series that I have not watched, excluding that animated shit.
It seems nice, 4th episode in. Except the very first episode, it seems great. Good writing.
Too bad the quality is utter trash. What the fuck did they master this shit from? Was the TNG remastering not profitable? They need to do the same shit for DS9, or at least source a better quality. I dont understand how a show that was on for 7 years only exist in shit quality.
Jeremiah Cooper
>Was the TNG remastering not profitable? It was not, and they have no plans to remaster DS9 because of that.
Hunter Brown
Complete fucking bomb. CBS Access only has like a subscriber base of like a million people, 90% of whom are probably old people who had their kids set up their account so they have 24/7 access to all NCIS episodes.
Kevin Ortiz
Netflix should have made it instead :(
Asher Butler
everyone wants some cool new shit AFTER voyager and then we get another Series before kirk... ffs
Liam Myers
I'm worried it won't capture the essense of previous shows. Even Enterprise was struggling to get that authentic Star Trek feel. They're probably going to shoehorn a lot of liberal crap into it (more so than we are used to from previous shows).
I believe they weren't going to remaster DS9 because they would have to redo all the CGI shots. They were all rendered at low res NTSC or PAL or whatever the fuck it's called.
Oliver Clark
>redo all the CGI shots You mean the exact same thing they did for TNG? DS9 may have used more CGI that requires more work, but that's a poor excuse.
Nicholas Davis
It's hardly a poor excuse that it would cost even more to do DS9 when the TNG remaster already didn't break even.
Lucas Sanchez
Maybe they should sell it to Netflix, or other streaming service, and not rely on media sales. Lots of channels are constantly airing TNG reruns, force them to buy the remastered version
Samuel Lee
DS9 is on netflix though. But there's no fucking way that licensing fee is going to pay for new CGI for the whole series.
Cooper Turner
>bryan fuller left wut
Hunter Campbell
It would help.
Didnt some TV station buy the rights to broadcast Sienfield for like 30 million a few years ago?
Sure, that's a more popular TV show, but again. It should help
Isaac Ramirez
Insider here. STD isn't happening. It's been scrapped.
CBS AA is negotiating with Netflix to create a new Trek streaming series with Abrams, Kurtzman, and Orci. Fuller and Meyer are completely out, persona non grata at this point.
Screencap this and reference it in May '17.
Jonathan Wood
Little details don't bother me, as much as the possible prospect that there is not a real artistic vision. Seems like a series designed by committee obligations. You need one person that is dedicated and inspired to be in charge of a project, and then get the hell out of their way. Things go wrong when you make a series because you feel obligated to do so, and fill in a bunch of focus group check-boxes because the suits say you have to.
Kayden Miller
>CBS AA is negotiating with Netflix to create a new Trek streaming series with Abrams, Kurtzman, and Orci. >Abrams, Kurtzman, and Orci
Hudson Campbell
>Probably will be mitigated with Fuller out they probably kicked him off for being too much of a white cismale shitlord
Nathaniel Richardson
I want to hope, but the judging by the shitty CG teaser and the CBS paywall, it has no chance.
Charles Jackson
Making SW7 took 3 years of Abrams life and almost killed him and he is still operating as Producer for the rest of the series while making his own movies and running Bad Robot. He's not adding showrunner of a Trek show on top of that.
John Hill
>still operating as Producer for the rest of the series Oh please god no. He needs to get the hell away from science fiction.
Xavier Baker
The early seasons of TNG had no CGI, apart from phasers and other colorful shiny stuff. The ships were scale models, the sets were either miniatures or matte paintings.
Elijah Myers
so do you
Adrian Jackson
>Sienfield It's not just more popular, it's incomparably more popular. DS9 is even less popular than VOY. If TNG wasn't profitable there is absolutely no way that they'll redo DS9.
Isaac Phillips
Abrams needs to stay from film and television, period
Adam Evans
>Bryan Fuller out Why did this happen? Were there just creative differences or did he do something stupid?
Robert Thompson
He spent his work days insulting Trump on twitter instead of working.
Logan Young
Yepp. I'm still waiting for some nice new ships. Instead I get antique-fi.
Carter Martinez
We probably won't know for a a while. Fuller is pretty based in general and has clashed with executives over show decisions before. He's a former Trek staff writer and has an autistic knowledge of Trek and I'm sure was incredibly protective over his show.
Add to that the budgets issues of making a Trek series, working with the most backward network execs in the industry at CBS, the retarded CBS streaming platform and the fact that he simultaneously running ANOTHER show American Gods and I'm disappointing but not surprised there's issues.
Leo Brooks
You kidding? Fuller outgays literally everyone, even Gaytiss.
Jace Anderson
Netflix has international distribution rights already. They will buy it out as soon as it fails on Access.
Angel Watson
That's really not how it works user. CBS is not gonna give up a billion dollar empire to Netflix because one show fails.
Elijah Gomez
Neither they will just lose millions of dollars spent on a series that nobody is watching.
Daniel Russell
Trek rights have already been negotiated to Netflix outside of the US, you utter moron. CBS is working with Netflix. The next Trek will be a Netflix exclusive (globally) and it will not involve Bryan Fuller. Insider here.
Ryan Lewis
Ebin comeback, JJ.
Angel Ward
Apologize.
Isaac Lewis
listen all y'all
Austin Gomez
>JJ uses the song Sabotage in 2009 >the movie deliberately destroys the Star Trek universe P O T T E R Y
