tfw i wanted karl to win and kill jon and rape meera and bran then kill them both too while jojen died from biting his tongue off in the middle of a seizure

>Jon gives the North up to Dany because she's feeling sad one of her dragons died.

>hey everyone who had faith in me and declared me DA KING IN DA NORF 2.0 and whose families had loyalty to my family for centuries
>hey you too sansa come sit down with us
>hey uh, I'm just gonna give our lands to this random foreigner hope that's cool
>yeah no just follow her n stuff, sorry salsa, guess we'll just marry you off to some random lord as an alliance hope it's chill. Maybe even to Robert Arryn, that sickly boy you dreaded marrying before Aunt Lysa died and it was called off
>oh yeah by the way this girl is a Targ. Yeah those same Targs that slaughtered my grandfather and uncle and started up Robert's Rebellion and leading to the deaths of many of your family members but lol that's all in the past. There's no way we'll ever get the Mad King again with these inbred genes she carries either
Hey, ASOIAF fans, how do you want your story?
JUST FUCK MY SHIT UP FAAM

>we need spoilers in the first post
Yeah I guess, like I said I"ve been gone for a while. This is just retarded at this point.

>D&D
>GRRM
Who is guilty?

sansa has no right to anything in the first place so she can choke and die, to be fair.

D&D are only doing their jobs. Making GOT as shitty and dumbed down as possible has won them massive acclaim and endured HBO billions.

GRRM on the other hand sold out his fucking life's work to a couple hacks because they knew how to google, and doesn't even have the motivation to finish his own ending so this is the only thing that'll be known.

Bravo D&D

Please don't this be true

No, it's one of the few ways we still get posts and discussion anymore.

Letting people come in and ask questions is the best way of keeping /got/ alive now.

If they learn everything immediately in the first post on their own, they can just move on, not post or write one post calling it shit.

>Later, I had the pleasure of speaking to Wright, who had chosen the 10 winning pieces from the fan art competition. In between posing for photographs with excited fans—myself included—Isaac and I chatted about Bran’s journey on the show, and whether he felt that the character would ever be able to forgive Jaime for pushing him from the broken tower. His answer? Should Bran ever remember how he fell, he is so focused on his mystical calling that he would be past any need to forgive.

>I also asked Wright if he felt that Bran’s higher purpose had helped him deal with the devastating losses he has suffered, and how his priorities compared to Sansa and Arya’s, a question he started to answer before revealing that he didn’t want to spoil anything for Season 7.

god damn it winterfell spoilers confirmed

Why would they hate each other when Kit has enough love for both, and Rose too.

stfu faggot

>he is so focused on his mystical calling

NOT FIT TO LEAD, NOT FIT TO SEED

Despite all this shit I still people deny the leaks because "oh noes leaker boy didnt mention a couple castle locations or two shitty characters like GWxMS so hes a liar and a Jonerys shipper."

well there was no evidence that what the leaker said about winterfell was true until isaac basically just admitted that bullshit about bran being catatonic is true and him "not wanting to spoil" info about him having different priorities than sansa and arya

Fucking hell I can't believe that d&d are actually so cheap that they're going to have Meera leave Bran for bs reasons after all the shit they've gone through.

skr skr

skr skr

Bran isn't catatonic, he's just busy shitposting and watching porn on weirwood.net all day

this will never not be funny

d&d cant keep anything straight last season they had leaf tell meera bran needed him this season theyre just writing her off because they got bored like the aspies they are

is that why reddit hates him then, because hes a reflection of their own selves?

Leaker 200% confirmed legit. It's gonna be worse than season 5, I can feel it. Especially with the autistic "prove the wights are real to Cersei" quest.

That said, at least we'll get more heavy metal album cover imagery with the NK riding an undead dragon.

Speaking leaks, Arya's Red Wedding 2: Electric Boogaloo got me thinking about the Stoneheat's Red Wedding sequel. I vaguely recall Thoros talking about a vision of an island of fire surrounded by water, but I'm not sure if it's a real passage or not. If it is, Stoneheart might just trap and burn the fuckers at Riverrun. R'hllor hunger etc.

>Hey guys we have a 100k+ men of various ranks, regions and houses plus 3 three dragons vs Cersei with a lackluster fewer than 10k army should we just take KL and consolidate our war effort there clear of distractions?
nah lets just go on an autistically long suicidal mission to prove a point to this crazy bitch we all have our own reasons to despise

>complaining about Jon and Dany getting BTFO
I know they're just doing it as a cheap way to build suspense like they did with battle of the bastards. And I know that it's retarded as fuck. But seeing them get completely rek'd in spite of having three dragons, 100,000 dothraki, however many unsullied, mercenaries, and wildlings, and 6 realms on their side warms my heart.

It would be enjoyable if the narrative was "these two are fucking idiots who nobody should follow" but instead it will be "look at the hard ships they're enduring and how it's making them fall in love!"

Just a few more days until the season 6 blu-rays and all those extras we were hungry for.

Some things lads can't take away from us

>Some things lads can't take away from us

What does that mean?

This is where I leave you

leake killed /got/

But lads can't leak the blu-ray extras so there's still some things we don't know, that we can discuss when we get them, that we can speculate on without ruining the entire thing almost a year early

Wait, did lads say Bran is catatonic and stuck in his visions all season?

doesn't matter

bran can't be king

not fit to breed

not fit to lead

Thank you uncle benjen

Something like that, but only most of the season

sort of
the "real" bran "died" in the cave or some shit so basically hes just a shell that the writers dont have to spend any more time attempting to characterize anymore because they're lazy ADHD mongoloids who don't deserve their jobs.

>the series is gonna end with Sansa as Lady of Winterfell

FUCK YOU GEORGE

The poetry is there, Sansa back where she started but happy about it and ruling instead of just being someone else's wife like she wanted before, but she's really not worthy of it. Which means the five year time jump George wanted was supposed to make her smart and competent

thats not at all where her book arc is headed, stop get redpilled by tumblr and reddit.

should i take?

I'm mainlining D&D season 7 where Jon leaves her in charge, she can more than handle Littlefinger, and Bran is too out of it to take his rightful position as King in the North and Lord of Winterfell

go to them and in the middle of class start yelling spoilers for season 7

Was just finishing the 5th season, I'm not sure if its a tv series thing, but the rise of that puritan religious cult was kind of strange to me, how the fuck did they get to the point of being able to lock up both queens like that? A bunch of robed guys wit sticks shouldn't be able to do anything against armed guards, and how didn't Cersei realize that this shit would happen? I could see it coming from the instant she went to talk to the old guy.

They wouldn't have been able to do it without Lannister support from Cersei and Tommen.

>How didn't Cersei realize this shit would happen?

Remember Tyrion saying Cersei was dangerous because she isn't as smart as she thought?

Probably because of Cersei's shortcomings

wow, they really are going for the Dany wins end aren't they?

Dropped.

>Bran travels North into enemy lands so a psychic can tell him some things then Bran travels all the way back to Winterfell
Why couldn't the psychic just tell him through the fucking tree at Winterfell or some other weirwood in the North?

why did the show cut out the huge ass labyrinth of tunnels under the weirwood forest beyond the wall that are definitely going to come in handy at some point in the books, do they enjoy making everything not related to jon or dany boring and cheap?

reasons

Because if we'd gotten the Tunnels, we wouldn't have gotten good old uncle Benjen

uh they could have done their coldhands=benjen bullshit in season 4 (when he SHOULD HAVE shown up) and included the magical door at the nightfort, but they dropped the ball on that too and opted to make it boring and low budget

Modern day Isaac Hempstead Wright

But we wouldn't have been ready for "thank you uncle Benjen" then

And would've ruined how Only got Jon into the trap if we already knew Benjen was undead

So the show would have had to follow the books, oh no, the humanity

why couldnt they have just made coldhands in the show = whoever coldhands is in the books? why does every other character have to get shat on and the rules of the universe have to bend to benefit 2 or 3 of d&ds favorite characters?

Only if you spend the entire semester regurgitating Preston theories and seeing their reactions.

>why couldnt they have just made coldhands in the show = whoever coldhands is in the books?

Cause having random wight come rescue them, reveal himself as another random person then going away isn't very good writing for a tv show. The show doesn't give the audience as much info as the books, so if coldhands is someone book readers would recognize and understand the implications of but that show watchers wouldn't, then it needs to be changed.

Like 3ER not being Bloodraven because explaining him and how he got there and his tragic background is too much

what makes you think coldhands in the book is just some random person? dont be stupid. there would be no reason to make such a huge deal about his hidden identity if he was just going to take off the scarf and say "hey im just a random nights watch guy i just hid my identity for the keks"

its not that the show "cant" give many characters backgrounds or make anything complex, did you not watch seasons 1 through 3? its that they dont TRY to anymore. the show has been simplified and dumbed down so much its on par with a disney channel show in terms of narrative sophistication. And now theres actually people like you unironically using this excuse that the show just cant be complex because it would end up confusing viewers. unbelievable

COLDHANDS
IS
THE
NIGHTS KING

THE SHOW CHANGED HIM TO BENJEN BECAUSE THEY ALREADY FUCKED UP THE NIGHT KING BY MAKING HIM FUCKING IMMORTAL ULTRON

yes, i know that, thats why im saying they absolutely could have given coldhands the same identity he has in the books instead of making it benjen just because "hurr plebian audience members need this to be a semi recognizable good guy from six seasons ago otherwise they wouldnt understand the importance of a historical or legendary figure or whoever he's supposed to be in the books because fuck lore and worldbuilding"

>what makes you think coldhands in the book is just some random person? dont be stupid. there would be no reason to make such a huge deal about his hidden identity if he was just going to take off the scarf and say "hey im just a random nights watch guy i just hid my identity for the keks"

He would be a random most likely meaningless person from a showfag's perspective, so no point keeping the same person

>its not that the show "cant" give many characters backgrounds or make anything complex, did you not watch seasons 1 through 3? its that they dont TRY to anymore.

Why the fuck would they try past that when the books got way too complicated and bloated around that point? They're a tv show, they can't do all the same shit

>He would be a random most likely meaningless person from a showfag's perspective, so no point keeping the same person

stop making excuses for this stupid fucking show, if book-coldhands ends up being someone the audience wouldn't recognize, thats entirely the shows fault for being too lazy and incompetent to lay the groundwork for whoever this obviously important figure is in the books

>thats entirely the shows fault for being too lazy and incompetent to lay the groundwork for whoever this obviously important figure is in the books

No it's not. Stop being buttmad the show can't adapt everything and has to simplify. And Coldhand's identity probably won't be important to the actual plot, only his function is, the identity just makes him more interesting

Yes it fucking is, stop being a showfag pleb. The answer to the books being too bloated isnt going in the complete extreme opposite direction and completely dumbing down to the point of being braindead, yes you can cut some shit out but the show is just retardedly stupid at this point and theres no fucking excuse for it especially since the first couple of seasons were not this way at all.

>And Coldhand's identity probably won't be important to the actual plot, only his function is, the identity just makes him more interesting
why the fuck would grrm even bother if this was the case, you're delusional

AZOR

>stupid at this point and theres no fucking excuse for it especially since the first couple of seasons were not this way at all.

Those seasons were before things got complicated as fuck on books written when the fat man thought it would be a trilogy

>why the fuck would grrm even bother if this was the case, you're delusional

Because mystery and character motivation, but doesn't mean you can't change those yet still keep the same function

Post underrated husbandos and waifus

>the place of women in webs of power
no.
it's gonna be womynpower and normie bullshit, people defending the shitty writing (or even praising it), and so on.

Only take it if you're gonna do Or better yet don't take it and do it anyway.

Cersei restored the faith militant. Giving the faith it's its own arms. She needed to as an unpopular Queen Regent. The small folk hated her things in the streets were bad from all the war. Tommen was also seen as a weak bastard by most small folk.

Her only hope (in her eyes) to cool things down in the city was aligning with the High Sparrow. The people loved him so she was hoping to use him to keep the people in line. Most people around her didn't know she was arming the faith and if they did they thought it was a bad idea. She wasn't listening to anyone else at the time as she was drunk with power and highly paranoid after Joff and Tywin died.

The reason both Queens were able to be locked away was Tommen was too weak of will to do anything about it and the Tyrell forces were away from KL. As for Cersei everyone except Tommen was happy to see her removed and once again he was too weak to do anything about it/he kills holymen that the people love KL would fucking explode in an uprising.

Also I guess I should mention I believe Cersei thought the faith backing Tommen would give him more legitimacy as a ruler.

>Was just finishing the 5th season, I'm not sure if its a tv series thing
Most of the show things are loosely adapted book things.
It also happens in the books but to a much larger scale. She allowed the Faith to restore the order of Sword and Star, the stars being normal religious people, the swords being fighters devoted to the faith. They have knights and stuff, armors and weapons, they're not just a bunch of retards in robes with sticks like they are in the show.

>how didn't Cersei realize that this shit would happen?
Well, because she's retarded.
As simple as that.

But in the books at least she has a reason (even if it's still retarded). The crown is in financial trouble, enough that they tell the bank of braavos to fuck off (a bank that is known to have close ties to the best assassins the world, and a motto about "always getting their gold back"), who are also known to finance enemies and win wars with their coin, etc...
They also owe a bunch of money (900k ish gold dragons IIRC) to the Faith, and Cersei get the Faith to erase the debt in exchange to allowing them to take arms again.

They were forbidden to do so since Maegor, who had to crush a violent Faith uprising. He made the law after the rebellion.

Then Cersei undid it for money.
Because she's dumb.

>They have knights and stuff, armors and weapons, they're not just a bunch of retards in robes with sticks like they are in the show.
Now it makes sense, I expected to see something like that, I also assume they get a lot of money in the form of offerings from the people?

ITT recast GoT with American actors

>Eddard Stark
Mel Gibson

>Tywin Lannister
JK Simmons

>Jon Snow
Jake Gyllenhaal

>Jorah Mormont

>They were forbidden to do so since Maegor, who had to crush a violent Faith uprising. He made the law after the rebellion.
>Then Cersei undid it for money.
>Because she's dumb.
I think she should take the "dumbest old bitch" trophy away from Catty for this one.

fuck this shit ..... im pissed because this is exactly how it will play out

> Mel Gibson
> American

well, I think they're more or less the equivalent of the catholic church, so they have a lot of money coming from people, lords who needs the faith to be on their side, and so on.

At at least they were that way before the High Sparrow.

In the books as soon as he got into power, he sold every jewelry they had (including some jeweled crown thingy made by Tywin to replace one that was stolen during the riots in Kingslanding), they're mostly about using their money for the poor now and not swimming into gold coins for fun.

But they used to be filthy rich yeah, hence how they could finance Robert/the crown for a million gold dragon (probably equivalent of a few bilions of today's money, which is even more given Westeros total population is probably around 20 millions or something)

How many times has GoT done the 'guy is gonna stab the hero but he'a stabbed in the back/neck by someone else'?

>Chivalry, the dominant political ideal of the ruling class, left as great a gap between ideal and practice as religion. The ideal was a vision of order maintained by the warrior class and formulated in the image of the Round Table, nature's perfect shape. King Arthur's knights adventured for the right against dragons, enchanters, and wicked men, establishing order in a wild world. So their living counterparts were supposed, in theory, to serve as defenders of the Faith, upholders of justice, champions of the oppressed. In practice, they were themselves the oppressors, and by the 14th century the violence and lawlessness of men of the sword had become a major agency of disorder. When the gap between ideal and real becomes too wide, the system breaks down. Legend and story have always reflected this; in the Arthurian romances the Round Table is shattered from within. The sword is returned to the lake; the effort begins anew. Violent, destructive, greedy, fallible as he may be, man retains his vision of order and resumes his search.

i more meant the cliche trope of faking out a character whos about to die by having them get stabbed in the back in a last minute le unexpected twist

They kind of did the reverse with Rickon? Implied he would die, but then showed he lived, only for him to unexpectedly die?

i realize after rereading this that the way i worded this makes no sense but im high and you know what the fuck i meant

also on this note why the fuck was it such a big deal that howland stabbed arthur in the back since backstabbing is a such a widely used tactic in this universe that theres like 10 examples of it in the show that werent passed off as "dishonorable"
