You're missing out

enjoying 'nerdy' isn't bad, it's when you become a mindless fanboy.

''it's brand X, take my money''

Ledger's Joker was a mistake.

hi Sup Forumsumblr

>Thinking Man

not that i watch marvel stuff anyway, but yeah i'll pass

The term "graphic novel" exists. And one of the reasons it got popular is because people didn't want to associate Eisner with capeshit.

>because an online lifestyle section said so

That's true, and I think it says more about capeshit than the medium itself.

Can i still be a self respecting adult if i was totally on board the capeshit wagon but jumped off when Age of Ultron turned out to be totally shit?

The article is right, anybody that buys into this company wars garbage is a liberal cuckold

>capeshitfags
>self-respect

Choose one.

agreed

But it produces these gems.

DCucks BTFO

>I shit on the United States

Could he be more based?

This is just "no shit" in how obvious a lot of it is. Everybody knows capeshit movies are for children, that these "men" need to repeat this fact as if it's some great act of rebellion is very telling.

>>"Nerd culture is the product of a late capitalist conspiracy, designed to infantalize the consumer as a means of non-aggressive control."
>- Simon Pegg
Lmfao is this real?

Are these the transcripts from the Stick In The Mud club?

No self respecting adult should buy or support ANY media. Including whatever published this article.

Anything you're interested in? Download.

Starve the fucking beast.

>gems

I C W U D T

I didn't even know vegisexual was a thing. Sounds hot as fuck

This is from a comic book, it isn't real.

I like superhero movies, but I recognize that--like the works of Tolkien, CS Lewis, JK Rowling--it has never reached the apex of mythic art like the Aeneid or the first two Star Wars movies.

He's a hypocrite retard that built up his whole persona from the "LOL NERD CULTURE XD", despite starring in Star Trek and being a Trekie himself.

I'm not surprised he's also a brain dead socialist.

>>"Nerd culture is the product of a late capitalist conspiracy, designed to infantalize the consumer as a means of non-aggressive control."
>- Simon Pegg

I'm going to go out on a limb here...

Hasn't *LITERALLY* every single penny this cunt has earned been off the back of "nerd" culture?

Lel what is this from? The art quality is on par with what you'd see on the back of a cereal box.

obvious, I could still use a hentai of a women fucking an giant fern.

It would make for a good fap tonight

>mythic art like the Aeneid
You mean literal propaganda written to justify Octavian's illegal reign in Rome?

The worst capeshit has more artistic integrity than Virgil.

Like what you want, just don't be obnoxious about it. Don't go around saying "such a nerd! xD" and talk about how "geeky" you are, it's the behaviour that makes cringy fags like Chris Hardwick and Channel Awesome have careers.

>This is just "no shit" in how obvious a lot of it is. Everybody knows capeshit movies are for children
most people into capeshit will deny this

Yes, he has.

He's a fucking tool, His YouTube dollar-store item review show is allright though.

Our love is real.

I don't know about the rest of the comic, all I know is that it involves alternate Earths, but you can read this story here .

nice non-argument

There are plenty of comics that are definitely neither capeshit or graphic novels.
That's like saying you shouldn't buy music or even call something music because there's a subgenre of music that you really hate.

Well im 22 and dont officially consider myself a respectable adult and im ok with that

>right in the fucking feels

I agree with all this, but even when I was 11 years old I hated "comic sidekicks" -- they're for feeble-minded children.

>all these manchildren coming out if the woodwork

>coming out if the woodwork
If only
they openly post here like they're part of the board now

my problem with capeshit is the characters are all too unidimensional. i've never seen a good character in a superhero movie

Ignore the buttmad comic fan.

jodorowsky is the best

>Could he be more ass-pained
FTFY

>"Nerd culture is the product of a late capitalist conspiracy, designed to infantalize the consumer as a means of non-aggressive control."
- Simon Pegg
That is some grade-A, Ellsworth Toohey-level hypocritical, pedantic bullshit.

>Jodo

>calling anything else shit

lol

DUDE WEIRD SHIT LMAO

>posting "PEE PEE POO POO frogs" and reaction images on a Malay laundromat forum is somehow the pinnacle of human thought and introspection.

XD Ebin!!

see
their brains are so rotted by capeshit and the like they think actual animals are cartoons frogs

makes you thinkie

superhero movies are fine but i think people overanalyze them today. They are supposed to be something fun to watch and a part of pop culture, not some big cinematic statement.

This

It's the guy who tried to make a fucking Dune movie, he has no right to talk about capeshit (even if it is shit)

fuck off

>see
>their brains are so summer and the like they lack reading comprehension

simonpegg.net/2015/05/19/big-mouth-strikes-again/

really makes u think

It's more mature and respectable than watching people kick a ball around if you think about it

>unidimensional
You're not smarter for making up a retarded word.

>big mouth strikes again

ITT: le edgy "nerds" get utterly BTFO and buttmad after getting rightfully mocked for their childish obsession with entry level, mainstream normie grade pop-culture.

at least football has some actual strategy

Has Simon Pegg ever been a project that has not been blatant nerd culture shit or at least rooted in nerd culture? I agree with him to an extent, but at the same time I just kind of want him to shut the fuck up for being a hypocrite.

that's why i pirate them

As someone that grew up up in a place and time pre "capeshit" or "Nerd culture". I see a huge gap between people that actually are or have an affinity for nerd interests and the people that came along once or because comicbooks and sci-fi finally hit a certain level of popularity. Most of the "such a nerd xD" group I can't even hold a conversation with about the things they claim makes them so nerdy. And I don't think they're unique to nerd fandom, they're what people use to call posers, they're the equivalent to suburban middle class wiggers but because of various reasons calling them at as different than actual nerds gets you shit on even more. You get get kicked out of every clubhouse and decide to make and build up your own where you fit in and when it finally catches on those same people and kinds of people that booted you from theirs demand entrance change the rules and boot you from your own. Nerd culture, at least the most visible aspects of it seem to be promoted and to some degree, dictated by the same types of people that use pick on nerds.

thefreedictionary.com/unidimensional

OK plebian here can I get some context?

see

>tfw you finally see her age

Still sexy.

>i've never seen a good character
That's because almost all popular superheroes are variations on the same 3 or 4 different tropes that were already old, generic, predictable and boring 40 years ago, and they never get expanded beyond that.

>being so utterly pleb you can't fathom the differences between the notion of adapting highly respected creative works and yet another autistic, meaningless rehash of the same mouth breather tier comic characters to sell plastic rubbish to over grown man children.

Whatever, you don't just say a sentence like that off the top of your head. He is a writer. He sat down and polished that turd a couple times. It's literally perfect in every way.

correct

capeshit BTFO

The exception here is the greatest hero: Hudson Hawk.

>its a "Im 17 years old and my taste in le cinema is better than yours!" post

This article is exactly right. No one grown adult would ever partake in something so childish.

Now excuse me, I have to catch up on my anime backlog. Thank you.

>highly respected creative works

If you had actually bothered to read the book in question you'd know that it's exactly the same as capeshit, and only "highly respected" by the nerd culture that makes up the capeshit fanbase.

oi u cheeky cunt i see what u did there

There's plenty of adult capeshit out there
Pic related: way deeper than any "adult" blockbusters. A philosophical, stylistic masterpiece

yeah no look at those disney outfits

Malin Ackerman's ass if a thing of beauty

based

it's really not even a dispute that if you like capeshit, you have poor taste in films

Ok.

>dcjoint character in the OP

really makes you think

Is this bait?

Wait the city in the first panel looks like buenos aires

Why?

i'm not sure what to make of an adult who gets into those hobbies (comic reading, watching superhero movies and cartoons) late in life. i grew up with it and it's nice to check in on them from time to time. it'll never be as good as it was when i was a kid, but that's because i'm not the target audience. and i'm okay with that. but these adults who just now get into comics and shit? wtf?

The man is a faith healer. An ex girlfriend who dropped him for another man turns up and reveals the crippled and dumb boy is his son. The guy fails to heal the kid, but promises to look after him anyway. The kid's angry that he couldn't get healed and leaves with his mom.

It's from Invisible People, great series.

Don't adblock Sup Forums. Youtube ads actually interrupt you.

can someone tell me if I should watch extended cut or ultimate BvS?

>a beloved series of novels set in a hugely imaginative world is on par with comic books and movies written for literal children because autism shoes and cargo shorts wearing omega males say so.

>Trying so hard to be a film snob you stop liking a fun movie because some fag that straps a legless man into an armless man and thinks it's some high level film mastery says it's for kids

capeshit isn't fun if you're over 14

t. fully developed human adult

capekino is shit

we're all still gonna see Dr strange right?

watchmen is as deep, meaningful and significant as superhero 'movies' will ever get (I've no idea er: comics). To expect/hope for anything better is to admit infantilization. They are pretentious dog shit.

You realize that is what is causing the decrease in quality content in the digital age, right? Cuck.

It's more about the movie itself than what you watch.
There have been some really good replies already on this thread explaining what's the cultural impact of them or becoming the new hot thing.
Having said that I can't say CA:WS or MoS (mentioning these as the latest movies of the superhero genre I have seen) were bad productions or not somewhat fun, but I don't find any reasons to watch them over another generic mindless sci fi movie. There's nothing really to appreciate there...

>Haha! I'm superior because I've enjoyed fewer movies!

>adults shouldnt watch super hero movies
>if you dont watch barbershop you're racist.

That point of view really lose its seriousness when it's shared by Jodorowsky
