I always thought it was PG. Still, impressive either way

The original ghost busters had sex, swearing and smoking and it was PG.

Meamwhile Planes Trains and Automobile had one scene with swearing and it got an R

PG. PG-13 didn't exist at the time, though it was likely changed to PG-13 for VHS and subsequent releases.

Well there was a lot of swearing in that one scene.

pg13 was invented so just so spielberg could corrupt children.

MPAA a shit

Friendly reminder that the Australian classification system is vastly-superior, and the best in the world. Our children aren't mass-murderers, because we know that allowing them to watch graphic violence is detrimental to their mental health.

Yeah, but you fags aren't allowed to have guns.

That's because we don't need them to be tough, my American friend.

is impact based on memory or manipulation effectiveness?

My grandma sure does to keep Tyrone from raping her to death. It's called the great equalizer for a reason.

Antigunners are okay with geriatric rape.

>not knowing how to booby-trap one's premises and turn one's body into a deadly weapon

I am disappointed in your grandmother.

It also created one of my favorite memes so I have appreciation for that, at least.

Just for you, my friend.

>need to be 18 to watch The Hateful Eight
A bit ridiculous imo. In my country it's 16.
+18 is reserved only for horror or pornographic films.

I'M LIKE SPIELBERG WITH ILL WORLDS AND HOES ON THAT CURB

What Ernest movie is this?

Ernest Goes to Cairo

he looks like a sam hyde character

Son, here in Australia we don't take very kindly to sexual violence against anyone, male or female. Don't you realise that rape is wrong?

What was this guys motive? That incident is pretty fishy, probably a false flag. You Aussies gave up your guns too easily

I was 4 years old when it happened. Saddest day of my life when they took my cap pistol from me. Interesting story though, there are some who've gone to great lengths to explain why they believe Martin Bryant is an innocent (legal) retard, and why one or two special forces soldiers perpetrated the massacre instead.

Still, one will never know. Oh well.

In Canada we have it a PG.
I do know that the MPAA only allows you to say fuck once before the movie gets a R rating.
So fucked up too.

No it's not. Maybe for movies but you morons banned games like Left 4 Dead because it's too violent. And I thought you were a country built on violence?

Impressive quads.

No, no. We're a country founded on larrikinism. Anti-authority and all that shit. There's more than one way to defur a feline, and violence doesn't have to be the first option in many situations.

Don't you know this?

Also, Left 4 Dead is shit. If it had more artistic merit, the violence could be justified, but it's just a silly vidya game for silly vidya game players.

but the scene where the ghost busters have sex used funny camera angles to have objects in the room covering their genitalia.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) was PG. PG-13 didn't exist as an MPAA rating back then. PG-13 was invented after Gremlins (1984) came out (which Spielberg also had a hand in producing). Too many parents were horrified by the violence in a PG movie that they thought was okay for their little kids, so the MPAA came out with PG-13.

The funny thing is nowadays many films are afraid to get an R rating because it'll hurt their ticket sales by cutting out viewership. So movie that should be R-rated (think Robocop 3 and Suicide Squad), was toned down just enough to allow for the PG-13 crowd. The thing is, you can get away with a LOT of violence and murder in PG-13 as long as you don't have a lot of gore, blood, or say fuck more than once. As a result, PG-13 movies tend to have more violence on average compared to R-rated movies because of these arbitrary rules.

wtf did this person even watch the movie? there was no nudity or sex in hateful 8, and i'd say the language was way worse than moderate.

I thought it was Jaws...

There was both dipshit. In the same infamous scene. You've been desensitized by the memes

Nazis weren't human beings, so it's ok

How Indie knew he had to close his eyes to not die?

>watch ghostbusters as a kid
>that scene where it's implied ray gets a beej from a ghost
>"huh, he must be embarassed that a ghost removed his pants"

Pence kinda looks like Putin from the back.

He read books

someone told him it was more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

>"huh, he must be embarassed that a ghost removed his pants"
My reaction when I get an actual bj desu

>this was pg-13

It was PG.

The heart ripping scene in the sequel is what prompted the creation of PG-13.

Lot's wife?

Aussie here - ours makes more sense than the US's system (PG - M15+ - MA - R18+, rather than PG - PG13+ - R), but still has its holes.

In my opinion, the older, more relaxed rating system was far superior. Same ratings, but movies were classified in a way that defined their content. There was a big difference between M and MA, and R was reserved for only the particularly disturbing, experimental, or sexual. Now, it seems like every second adult movie that comes out is branded with R. It ultimately cheapens the rating system.

Nope. Jaws was released in 1975. MPAA came out with PG-13 in July 1984. It should also be noted that Temple of Doom also came out earlier that year, prior to the release of Gremlins (also with a PG rating).

robocop and suicide squad should be pg-13 though
that's what the market for movies about robot cops and comic book movies are.

This guy is exactly right.

I specifically remember Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (which featured a still-beating heart ripped out of a man's chest) and Gremlins (which featured a microwaved gremlin exploding and the eyeballs rolling down the glass), both PG rated movies, being the direct cause of the advent of the PG-13 rating.

I saw both those movies in theaters as a nine year old. It was awesome.

except it was PG, PG-13 didn't even exist at that point

Is that a different version? The poster my room mate has has it rated as MA15+, I just went to check to confirm and it does indeed say MA15+, I know that Pulp Fiction I have on VHS is R but that is pretty much only because of scene that shows in detail the acquiring, preparation and injection of Heroine.

Robocop should be rated R.

Kids sneaking into R rated movies is a time-honored tradition.

My dad thought it was a good idea to show me this movie when i was like 7

What the heck i was just speaking about this pic being one of my favorites maybe 20 minutes ago. And in years i have not seen the pic being used in relation to its origin nor have i ever talked about it before...

Am I in the fucking matrix?

I watched films like Alien, Friday 13th, Nightmare on Elm St, and whatever fucking hyperviolent drug fueled movies you could imagine from the late 80s and early 90s when I was 4-10. It was fucking awesome having an older brother and sister that forced me to watch them.

If you live in Europe I'm guessing you dont follow the news

It's PG.

But Steven Speilberg did create the PG-13 for Temple of Doom, also PG for some god damn great reason

>tfw the cadavers in the pool in poltergeist were real
>tfw the cast didn't know until halfway through the shooting

...

>when u nut but she still suckin

That ad is so fucking comfy, takes me back to the 90's in a good way

>my sides
