One third of the way through.
What's the best album you listened to?
NSBM
first for LEVIATHAN is underrated kino
Fantasy you shall have
good stuff
I'll share a couple medieval/fantasy albums I like.
>Minas Morgul - Das Dunkle Reich Des Paganlords (2000)
>German Black Metal EP
>mega.nz
Old favorites mostly. As far as new (to me) stuff goes, Skagos - Ast, Wodenthrone - Loss, Morok/Mopok - In the Dungeons of Mind, have all been good.
>Thunderbolt - Black Clouds Over Dark Majesty (1999)
>Polish black metal EP
>mega.nz
I'm drunk, post some DSBM that'll encourage me to pull the trigger
Give me some black metal with dungeon synth influences, similar to Summoning.
Caladan Brood, Sojourner, Emyn Muil
>Autumnal Winds - Venerari Sacra Mysteria (2004)
>US Medieval black metal. These guys would go on to form Obsequiae
>mega.nz
If you kill yourself now, think of all the black metal you won't be able to get drunk and listen to. Also, I feel like killing yourself to dsbm is pretty lame.
For bands similar to Summoning, check out Gallowbraid and Rivendell. Check out Evilfeast if you want black metal with lots of synths and DS influence. Wolves of Hyperborean Frost is a good EP.
Post what you're listening to
Whoever posted Luceran Lycan Haunt, I can't stop blasting them, so thanks, I guess.
Anyone have any IBM reccs?
Killing yourself to DSBM is the ultimate act of faggotry.
Make it a NSBM murder suicide kinda deal instead.
>pic related
>Rivendell - The Ancient Glory (2000)
>Austrian BM, Summoning Worship
>mega.nz

This album is underrated as fuck
last one today before going to bed I guess
I just bought this today. Probably not going to get to listen to it till Thursday.
Any good?
it's my first time listening! one of 3 paysage cd's i own (other 2 being kristall & isa + winerkaelte). this is definetly gonna make my wood walking at night playlist.
was a reply to
excuse my dumb fingers
posting more LEVIATHAN
only the most kvlt of kino
Tried out Arckanum from the OP and this was surprisingly good
>this engorges the trve male
Finally getting round to this so far I fucking love the vocals anyone got recommendations for something similar?
What's the most tourist friendly nu male release of 2017?

you fucking know it
everyone into german black metal should listen to this.
...
So Scar Sighted is your favorite Leviathan record, we might assume?
Is this acceptable?
I don't think it is. It just seems a bit disrespectful. The SS were Hitler's bodyguards and we all failed Him. We should wear SA uniforms instead.
name?
>not appreciating gorgeous LEVIATHAN artwork
>being this condescending
numales are made inadequate in the face of LEVIATHAN
Pic related. Eldrig might legitimately be my favorite BM songwriter. His work with Fanisk and his own solo project is just insanely good.
yikes
jinkies
Kaffaljidhma - IV
>Kaffaljidhma - IV
sounds cool, thank you
i guess it's tourist hours again
What a great year it has been for war metal

Back from a 3 day ban. How's everyone doing?

what went wrong? 2016 nbbmn was better than this shitshow
>what went wrong? 2016 nbbmn was better than this shitshow
No it wasn't.
I enjoyed it.
dude it's mu this is the level of shit-showery u have to expect fuck off or stay and get some recs
2015 got me into black metal, it was a lot better than this shit
Agreed, this seems to be a pretty shit nbbmn so far. I think maybe all of the black metal threads before November might have contributed to the slowness of these threads. There's been way too many political conversations going on. Just cool yourselves and discuss black metal.
maybe this can get some discussion going, but it's probably just gonna be nu-male calling again
these guys are austrian right?
i like it a lot

reminder that the best decade for bm was actually the 60's
I don't get the "Cromagnon is bm" meme. It's obviously closer to industrial than anything.
yeah they are, and they are quite good indeed, didn't fit my 2000s theme though since their first release is from 2012.
As someone who's totally unfamiliar with the German side of things, which of these albums should I start with to give me a good idea of what the scene's all about, also what if anything would you say it's unique to the German scene
What sort of style is this album? I've seen this posted here and there and never checked it out
It's got them Black Metal vocals and an aesthetic that would fit within black metal in the modern day, but black metal it's not. A fine release though desu
dsbm/atmo, but good
I like me some atmospheric and depressive shit from time to time, I'll check it out.
the vocals are obviously bm, and the use of bagpipes is more frequent in bm than indus
start with either Grabnebelfürsten, Nocte Obducta or Nagelfar imo, as for what's unique... I can't really put my finger on it, but I just like german black metal the most. You will find some similarities in sound in the 3 I mentioned though.
melancholie is good apart from the final song imo, but that's the only one i've heard out of the german ones
anything for me to check out?
you all are fags, post the prince
I guess the vocals are kinda bm sounding, but really they are just whispers most of the song. There is some shouting at the end though
>the use of bagpipes is more frequent in bm
You could probably find some first wave industrial with bagpipes if you look long enough (it isn't really a common instrument in bm either). But if you by bagpipes just mean folk instruments, then sure.
It soul be cool to see some really primitive bm with a caveman aesthetic though.
Those are some nice walls
Fides Inversa, listened to their sophomore for the first time this november, loved it. I liked their debut as well, but not this much.
Also, Mortuus - Grape of the Vine, I'm not usually into "evil" sounding stuff, but their execution is great
>It soul be cool to see some really primitive bm with a caveman aesthetic though.
there's some war metal like that but I don't consider war metal to be bm

listen to these and check out the respective album of the one you liked the most. The first 2 are kinda hard to put into a subgenre, the third is more on the pagan side.
Why? It's basically a mix of black and death but meant to be played very loudly
>I don't consider war metal to be bm
well you're wrong
Yeah. Caveman Cult, right?
>It soul be cool
>soul
Fuck. That's not even auto-correct. I just typed "soul" instead of "would" for some reason
That's the one
What are your favorite unconventional vocals? I like Urfaust and Agathothodion.
war metal is black metal clay
I prefer their later work, this is a totally different thing. The drums are too shitty for my taste. I don't hate it though, pretty neutral
what on earth did he mean by this
that weird fucking sound corneus makes on jagd auf israel
these are p weird:

Inquisition, though they might be a bit obvious
Urfaust is great, the vocals on this is too (but I enjoy dsbm in general so)
>inb4 a shitstorm ensues because you mentioned Inquisition who is evidently "bad" now
Why are people shitting on Inquisition. They're nothing amazing, but they're hardly bad
lul who said that
