Favorite Genre

What's your favorite genre Sup Forums? The genre stands above the rest, and always draws you in when you can't think of anything to watch. The genre you've seen more than any other. The genre that makes you happy and that you can't help but enter any thread about it?

For me it's campy 70s sci-fi. Everything about it, from the pseudo-scientific talk, to the cold war influences to the, to the set and clothing design, all just gets me right in the feels.

Blaxploitation.

Willie Dynamite, Coffy, Blackbelt Jones, Black Samurai.

Investigation films.

>detective work
>journalistic work
>paper work
>clues
>theories
>paranoia
>uncovering conspiracies

Love that shit

Same as you user-kun!

I don't watch genre film.

Ok user, for you i choose Film Noir.

The ever complicating plots, the femme fatales, the city-jungles, the post-war ennui, the german expressionist cinematography that shit is pure gold.

What film has the best paperwork?

pointless action. IDK why but movies like Hardcore Henry, transformers, die hard anything like that. I can just sit down and watch em without wanting to get up and walk away. Ill admit they arnt the best movies and im not gonna defend them as so but when the chips are down and everyone is looking to me to put a movie on, thats the genre i browse

It's porn.

Small town vs something movies. Nothing gets my dick hard like when the mayor/sheriff/doctor/professor are all gathered together trying to figure shit out and they're in over their heads.

>ennui

please keep my name out of this user

Cerebral cold war conspiracy/spy thrillers.

80s dystopias.

Noir.

I have to agree, I find myself watching porn more than anything else

Art films

Old romance movies. Romcoms or romantic dramas.

The only modern movies I've been watching have been sci-fi/fantasy/mostly superhero movies. TV shows and anime are better at romance nowadays I guess.

Because it's so stereotypical, am a girl.

Art-house? Or something different?

My top 10 in order

>Superhero
>Absurdist Art-House Fantasy
>Historical Nonfiction
>Acid Western
>Cold War Espionage Thrillers
>Psychological Drama
>Dystopian Science Fiction
>Crime-Biographical Nonfiction
>War Documentary

left out Musicals as my tenth

I don't really know how to describe it.
I really like anything that takes place in the early 2000
