Man, is such a cliche, but (in rock) Jerry Garcia is one of the few guitar players that really stands out to me as phenomenal. I really like the way he works some jazz influences into his guitar playing, I love the way he manages to be both folksy and "guitar god" at the same time. It sucks to me that the Dead went pure leweedman jam band, because I think they get unfairly overlooked as a studio perfectionist band.
