Where are you from fa/tv/irgin?

Approaching my goal of a movie per day for 2016. Should I go for 400?

Sure, not that hard, if you manage to watch 4 movies some days, youre golden.

tfw behind by a couple of movies

letterboxd.com/Lozjudai/

2016 has been the worst year of this decade so far movie-wise

I might be able to manage it in weekends but I don't feel like doing it anymore. I think I need a little break from watching movies.

Film has been total trash since the early 90's

Too early to properly know

Stupid and wrong

Recommend some good mystery films .

Borat

No bully pls.

you forgot to put lbg in the OP

poor SEO if you ask me

>When you watch a thriller and it turns out to be a metaphor for how detached and apathetic governments are about their historical foreign policies
>and the only thrill in the movie is an abrupt cut to a noisy crowd at a swimming competition

Where did you dig out subs for IAAH

I forget exactly. They'll show up in Google, only came out a few days ago.

Wiki releases a lots of interesting stuff but finding subs is a pain in the ass. Thanks for the heads up

Pretty sure this is the place I used.

I'm almost there.

Currently on track to get 365 from my main profile page although hiding shorts puts me on 304.

Likely to have some film heavy days over Christmas though while I've got some time off from work

In what do you work, Ronald?

t. embryo

yi yi 5/5?

Professional services at a big (guy) 4 firm.

F For Fake

Yes, why?

what did you find so gratifying about it?

It's one of the greatest movies of 21st century. It's one of the few movies which I connected with .Yi Yi captures almost every stage of life.It represents and captures a sense of wonder and curiosity when dealing with the kid.It captures love and uncertainty when dealing with teenage character (the sister and her friend). It perfectly represents mid life crisis and lost opportunities when dealing with the parents.Very few films represent the whole spectrum of life and depict it as accurately.

Are you planning to do the 2017 cult movie challenge?

Yessir, here's my watchlist for it
letterboxd.com/xl9/list/2017-cult-movie-challenge/

>191 movies watched this year

Just spend the last month and something watching Boardwalk Empire, which slowed down my movie watching. I wanted to reach 300 movies this year (same as last), but not sure I can make it.

MOTY in this list, for sure.

Nice
I haven't made my list yet I will soon

There's no HACKSAW RIDGE in your picture though..

I just grabbed bluray of Miami Vice S1 and am gonna start marathoning it. Hype as fuck desu.

it was a solid 7/10. Pic already got 2 8.

Wasn't someone trying to push 20% as the cut off? Glad we finally got to him.

Pffff 20% is nothing. Every casual out there has probably seen 10-15%.

True. I wish roughmeme would tell us how much he watched.

I wish I were cool enough to do the cult movie challenge with Ronald

MOTY

>tfw haven't felt like watching a movie in months

What do I do?

>A "found foliage" film composed of insects, leaves, and other detritus sandwiched between two strips of perforated tape.
>4 mins
>3.5

You guys agree?

...

I've never been able to get into animated films/cartoons.

A lot of the degraded quality springs from the effects of improved monitor tech. More sharper, more pixels more hzs = all these reveal artifacts and bad animation more accurately than shitbox CRT.

Something like HDR/120hz 2160p monitor will make all animation look really bad. Stuff like Warcraft is nearly unwatchable on a good monitor already.

I guess the counter to this is to simplify your animation, make it more basic, but I wonder how long audiences can give a shit about that kind of animation.

You are cool enough my friend, make a list
letterboxd.com/bigdaddywarbuxx/list/the-2017-cult-movie-challenge/

don't watch a movie then, you don't have to do anything that you don't want to

Maybe not 100% related, but I watched Lion King HD and it looked so fucking bad.

I lied, it's not because I'm not cool enough, it's because I despise reviewing and rulesets; there will be none such foolishness here.

...

>ugh...like...we are the new Americana...high on Biggie and Nirvana...this movie is, like, us?
Neck yourself.

ok, then don't make the list (or make the list but don't review/make your own rules). you don't have to do anything that you don't want to

those boys do love memes, I stand by my comments

>there will be none such foolishness here
I still get erect listening to this phrase

t. cuckieray

What's your favorite Coen Brothers film?

no country for old men, true grit & big lebowski are all fantastic in my opinion.

tg is probably my favorite western since Johnny Guitar

Is he finnish?

>tfw finally no longer an embryo

Congrats. Now it gets hard and slippery and messy and dirty

hectic review

The central quality of the alien language is being able to experience the past, present, and future all at once -- there is no looking back to the past or looking forward to the future, everything has happened and can be experienced non-linearly at once. Learning the language comes with adopting this quality and is the tool (mistranslated as "weapon") that the aliens are offering, in exchange for the humans' help 3000 years from then. This allows her to experience the future aftermath where the Chinese general tells her how she stopped the Chinese forces, and then use that information to stop the Chinese in the immediate moment. And even though she knows her husband will leave her and her daughter will die, she goes along with the relationship anyway because it is still worthwhile to experience all of it.

Life is about the journey, not the destination.

Michael Mann's best TV work as a producer?

Obviously. What, you think Luck or Crime Stories compare?

has there been a single good film this year?

kubo

13 hours.

Greasy strangler

Yes

Everybody Wants Some!!

Yes you dumb embryo. Just go back to Sup Forums.

SPL 2, Elle, Sully, The Conjuring 2, Hell or High Water, Don't Breathe.

La mort de Louis XIV

>greasy strangler
>good

it is the movie of the year in my opinion

ghostbusters

I think his best directing work for TV is the Luck pilot episode and his best producing is for Robbery Homicide Division, which is a really good police series which I hope it gets a proper release some day. Miami Vice is still pretty good and really defined that 80s look and sound.

>say something stupid or hot, but itchy
>get (you)s
It's a life, I'm sure

I miss the french community of /lbg/

How honest is RHD about LAPD? Does it go as hard as the Shield?
