That's not A short film about killing

It's boring.

I agree. I've watched it one or two times before but the last time was just eye opening.
Such a great everything, it's simply amazing. Did you know that the movie wasn't considered for best costumes because everybody thought the ape-men were real apes? Top fucking lel.
I don't even really consider it as a movie but more like something of a bible, when I see it I feel like I'm being taught and shown something incredibly wonderful. I just love thinking about it as something that really happened. It also made me really want to know how we came to existence, I want to be taken way, way back and see how existence started, how the universe started and why.
But most of all do I want to let go off everything material and just be wisdom, floating around in space on the search for more wisdom.
I often lie down in the grass at night and just stare at the great universe, thinking and never knowing.

Also one of the best posters I've seen.

;)

Citizen Kane

*clears throat*

Ahem...

I've never heard this argument before.

>Ive finally watched something that isn't capeshit: the post
Its a good film but nowadays you can't proclaim a film with 75% filler of space shots with classical music is one of the best ever

>cinematography
sure the match cut was cool
>special effects
rotating stage was innovative but what inception did with centrifuge was goddamn beautiful
>cultural impact
robot goes insane and kills people until the human can stop him and oh by the way there's a magic black slab that evolves you

overall the movie's glaring issue is it's lack of actual content int he face of it's special effects
>shots of desert for a while
establish monkey evolution and the significance of the monolith
>shots of space
go to the moon
>shots of space
>nah but other side of the moon
guys this monolith is creepy, noisy and is beaming into space tward Jupiter.
let's go to Jupiter
nah but hal is the best tho
hey hal why are we going to Jupiter
[i dont know. oh hey look it's a broken antenna. you should go outside to fix it
[oops i killed everyone because he he asked a question im not allowed to answer
im shutting you down hal
shutsdown hal in what is possably the greatest villain death ever
well there's still this monolith thing that decided to show up here for no reason and not be in jupiter. imma touch it
>shots of Antarctica with different color grades
>accelerated life in a white room
>suddenly a space baby
anything in greentext could be cut out of the story and nothing would be lost. you could still make the second movie without loosing anything

Sorry, no.

member space odyssey?
member hal 9000?
member monolith?

They really should make a remake. Imagine the special effects

member reddit?

space Odyssey had a 3rd book 2061
it could happen
jj abrams should direct

Interstellar is better in every way. It was just too smart to win over critics and audiences.

There's also a fourth book in the series, 3001

>greatest film ever made
>not the Plane Scene

>3001: A Penis Odyssey (2007)

Wtf haha

Move over KuPRICK. Denis Villeneuve has ARRIVED and made a better movie.

Bone ruins it.

10/10 movie though.

>all white male cast

nope
