>Liberal Democrat senator David Leyonhjelm has parodied Kevin Rudd’s historic stolen generations apology speech in an election video on tax and spending policy.
>On 13 February 2008 the former prime minister apologised for the “hurt, pain and suffering” the parliament had caused Indigenous people.
>On Monday Leyonhjelm released a three-minute election video apologising to Australian taxpayers for the “needless pain, suffering and hurt” caused by government taxes and regulation.
I am no fan of lolbertarianism, but I like this man's memes.

What's wrong with Libertarianism?
Ryan Thomas
>What's wrong with Libertarianism? m8 it is like communism in that it only appeals to autistics and academics who like to theorise from their ivory towers and don't really understand how the real world and real people work.
It is for autistics and the mentally ill. It appeals to a lot of narcissistic and frustrated teenage boys and young men. Most of them grow out of it. The ones who don't are real sad cases.
Luke Roberts
Fuck me I have to vote for this guy now

Oliver Rogers
I like Leyonhjelm, but I'm not for libertarianism. I like some of LDP's policies, but not enough to vote for them.
Gabriel Sanchez
Yes "m8" I am the autist of the thread but I know I am an autist and know that some of my sillier thoughts are a result of my autism.
Sadly most lolbertarians don't have that level of self-awareness.

Just preference them first in Senate.
At worst they don't get elected anyway. At best they retain their seat and the senate doesn't lose its minor parties.

Unless you're hardline Christian those are some odd choices for the first two. And Christian parties are notoriously prorefugee so they kind of contradict the nationalist second 2 parties.
Eli Hughes
I've been telling you the LDP is the party to get behind for 6 months.
A bunch of you have been talking shit against them but they are the best party we have in this country by far.
>Those comments fucking hell what a bunch of brainwashed cucks in this country.
Eli Price
I've looked into my top 2 parties' platforms, and when it comes to refugees, they want legit refugees who have no other choice but to come here, particularly the persecuted Christians in north Africa and Middle-East. These parties are also pretty anti-Muslim too, which ties in with spots 3 and 4. I don't care much about skin colour, I'm more concerned about stopping Islam coming here.
Ayden Davis
Fair enough.
Half of the comments dont even realize they aren't the Liberal Party
Cooper Jenkins
I'll just vote for whatever minor parties look entertaining, I guess. I went and stuck my foot in it today so political shit-flinging just doesn't seem fun right now.

A lot of /auspol/ seems to assume that being libertarian automatically makes LDP open borders.
But they are actually for much tighter restrictions then most of the parties.
The immigration policy looks like this: >Have to pay 50 grand to become permanent resident >Permanent residents can't get passports or welfare >To become a citizen you have to live here for 10 years, have a clean criminal record, proof of employment, pass a test etc
Dylan Campbell
Fuck off retard.
Asher Bailey
yeah go fuck your self
Elijah Wright
>But they are actually for much tighter restrictions They (sort of) pretend to be. But free movement of people and open borders is central to libertarianism.
Libertarianism is extremist individualism and at the end of the day is not compatible with strong national identity and borders.
Ayden Martinez

As you've probably noted, FF and CDP are my first two choices - I'm a staunch social conservative, and LDP's social policies are a bit too liberal for my tastes. If they had a more conservative stances on euthanasia and whatnot, they'd have a higher position on my Senate ballot. I'm also against libertarianism as a political philosophy, so yeah...
Adam Moore
How is this relevant to someone thinking of voting for the LDP in the coming federal Australian election?
Matthew Ramirez
Who else /katter/ hear?
Evan Flores
Because the underlying ideology is just as important as carefully crafted bullshit official policies m8.
The Greens are commies but they don't put that on their fucking website do they?
Cameron Powell
Yeah mate, I like him too. Just good common sense policies. Plus he has been making a massive push to get rid of shitty political correctness. I occasionally talk to the melbournians crowd they are all fucked, PC city 2016.
Jose Edwards
The greens wouldn't implement a communist system of government in this country just like LDP wouldn't open our borders so I am not sure what your point it.
Just about every party in our country has a name that doesn't perfectly describe their policies or members.

Australia's national identity is a bunch of nanny state loving weaklings.
LDP doesn't have a completely anarchist stance on immigration and borders though. They plan to make it tougher than it is now.
If you want to live here you have to pay for it. You will not be eligible for benefits/welfare. You cannot vote until you've been a resident for 10 years and are a citizen. You will only be accepted if deemed fit to intergrate into society.

LDP all the way. They are pro self defence, pro concealed carry, pro semi auto long arms, pro suppressor and they want to abolish the registry.
Leyonhjelm himself is a regular shooter.

>But free movement of people and open borders is central to libertarianism. You're wrong. Read some Hans-Hermann Hoppe, he's a libertarian theorist so a higher authority than you on this matter.
Hoppe believes that as long as states exist, they should impose some restrictions on immigration. Hoppe has equated free immigration to "forced integration" which violates the rights of native peoples, since if land were privately owned, immigration would not be unhindered but would only occur with the consent of private property owners. In terms of specific immigration restrictions, Hoppe argued that an appropriate policy will require immigrants to the United States to display proficiency in English in addition to "superior (above-average) intellectual performance and character structure as well as a compatible system of values". These requirements will, he argued, result in a "systematic pro-European immigration bias".
Further it is widely regarded by libertarians that the borders can only be open if there is no burden on the native tax payer and immigration does not impose on the rights of the native population.
Therefor the idea that theocrats and communists would be openly welcomed into our society is completely ridiculous.
You should really do some research before you try and tell everyone else what to think.
Asher Hughes

That said everyone on Sup Forums from aus should be getting behind LDP at this point because it's our main shot at getting power away from the greens and the commies who are fucking everything up and trying to flood the country with mulsims and somalians.
Andrew Smith
In actual relevant news, Turnbull outs himself as the cuck he is
I have LDP on my Senate vote strictly because of what you mentioned desu; they have a lot of points that are in line with my conservative leanings. I must admit that I confused LDP's libertarianism with the ancap meme, so I had to re-think where I stand with them. I disagree with them on their social platform and some other things still, but a lot of what they stand for is pretty good. As it stands, they'll definitely have a place on my ballot, though not near the top in all honesty sorry.
Samuel Hernandez
>No one is forcing fags to get married at your church And here we get to the rotten heart and emptiness of Libertarianism.
I described it before as extremist individualism. Well m8 there is such a thing as society. No man is an island. What the fags do down the road matters to me, even if it isn't inside my church. Society exists.
Samuel Phillips
>pushing Nope. He is allowing gay marriage it is not the governments place to be pushing a gay agenda.

Your society is a convict nation that votes for collectivist policy.

Alexander Harris
>Why not take the government out of marriage entirely? Did you even read what I wrote?
You clearly didn't understand it.
Colton Wilson
So you've been arguing against LDP and haven't really presented any actual arguments. You've presented things that are completely wrong or outright insults.
That's fine you have a every right to be a moron.
However I would like to know what parties you actually like.
Who are you voting for?
Evan Anderson
I'm still here lad, I understand where you're coming from in your suggestion, and it's quite good. To be honest, I didn't really know where to put One Nation - I like their nationalism, but some other things the say are questionable to me - that's why I preferenced ALA above them. Thanks for your feedback mate, I agree with what you said about getting the power away from the Greens and their harem of left wing minority parties. The conservative parties and their support base need to rally against them ,especially now that since Senate voting rules have changed.
John Green
>those comments Holy fuck, what a bunch of cucks, but what else could you expect from the pseudo-intellectual dipshits who read the Guardian.
Parker Wright
To add another point. A fair portion of Australians would be anti religion. If the government simply acts based on feelings instead of liberty then your church would be in the crosshairs if they ever got power. The same liberty that protects fags, protects your church.
Jayden Hall
I read what you said it was basically >If faggots have legally binding monogamist relationships society will crumble
William Johnson
ALA look pretty good and they're the new kid on the block so we should try and get one of there's in the house.
I am putting one nation on my ballot too but I feel like Pauline was a victim of such a strong character assassination that there is no chance they can get in so I'm putting them lower than some of the others.
I really feel sorry for her.
There's still time to think about it. LDP is one of the stronger more organised minor parties though and they stand more of chance. Family first and christian democrats are good parties to preference from what I have seen though.
And LDP does go against a lot of those christian issues, euthanasia and abortion first and foremost. So I see where you're coming from too.
Bentley Collins
Yep it's the regressive left that frequent that site. Some of the comments on almost any topic or story will be the biggest bullshit you will see.
Aaron Nelson
Anti euthanasia isn't even Christian doctrine. It was shilled by governments so the workers and peasants didn't just kill themselves leaving the kingdom powerless.
Ayden Carter
Personally, I'm not any religion, just anti-islam. But I don't think the government should be enforcing anything based on religious values.
I am of the opinion that if you are religious and you are anti-abortion, porn, euthanasia, gay marriage and other hotbutton religious political issues that's fine and I respect your morals but I don't believe it should be up to the government to enforce those morals on everyone since many people aren't religious and they shouldn't be subject to your religious beliefs.
Does that mean any of those issues, such as abortion and gay marriage should be celebrated? No. I just don't see any logical reason for the government to protect us from immoral behavior.
Zachary Green
>Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

>I just don't see any logical reason for the government to protect us from immoral behavior. People have children who they want to raise in an environment that won't corrupt them and turn them into perverts and degenerates.
Having the public space (including broadcasting) full of filth makes things impossible for parents. There needs to be common standards of decency and behaviour.
Ryder Perry
It would be grand wouldn't it. But unfortunately not even Leyonhjelm could pull that one off.
At most immigrants will not be able to access welfare and middle class people will stop getting ausstudy and family tax benefit.
Leyonhjelm himself said in his own words that he wants only genuinely poor people to get welfare. Although there is stuff written about cutting all welfare on the LDP principals sheet, it doesn't state cutting welfare entirely.
Anthony Sullivan
>Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
Carson Morgan
that made my day ausAnon, thanks
Owen Baker
>Having the public space (including broadcasting) full of filth makes things impossible for parents. Do you have children?
I do. It's not hard at all to keep them from degeneracy in the public space or the media. That's easy.
The problem is the degeneracy in the schools.
The teachers teaching pro-multiculturalist garbage to indoctrinate kids is the biggest threat and it's in every fucking school.
But as a parent you are the biggest influence in their life, as long as you aren't a shitty parent so it's not that hard to correct that nonsense but it is by far the biggest problem with raising kids today.
That's why that commie safe schools bullshit or whatever it is called needs to be crushed. That will add gay agenda to the multiculturalist bullshit.
Andrew Fisher
LDP and Liberals both want it defunded. A neutered version of the original proposal made it thru but it all needs to go.
