First person shooter video games could have something to do with it. If your kids think shooting people in a game for 3 hours a day is fun, whos to say that some don't fantasize about doing it for real?
50 years ago, there were no video games. Dad might keep a rifle hanging on the wall.or in the back of his truck, and the kids were not sneaking off with them to shoot up the school.
