I don't see what's so bad about it, sure it's fun to point and laugh at live action adaptations of anime but sometimes you gotta acknowledge when things are actually decent.

It doesn't really bother me. Batou's eyes never really made sense to me design wise anyway so he always looked goofy to me. I recognized him instantly in the trailer, so mission accomplished.

He's deliberately horse-faced on an exaggerated level in the anime because of his supernatural symbolism for both Japanese and Chinese mythology. It doesn't translate to live action.
