Part of being human is human duality. It's perfectly possible to believe two seemingly different things at the same time, and it can be perfectly valid. The problem with leftists seem to be that they engage in purely binary thinking. Right and wrong, left and right, white and black. I'm noticing a distinct lack of nuance from them, despite them shouting very loudly that the right lacks nuance.

In someone like me, the duality would be agreeing with most leftist policy and idealism, but still siding with right wing ideology. But I can explain it perfectly: The leftists are shedding the policy I like faster than a dog changing coats, and they never put it in practice. On the other hand, I hate mass immigration and supplication to religion (one of my leftist qualities, I suppose), but the left provides this in spades. So I can not be a leftist, precisely because of the leftist ideals I hold. But I can still acknowledge them. I did not drink the Kool Aid, after all. I merely swallowed the red pill.

This seems impossible for a lot of leftists. You can see this in how they shill for radical islam. Not moderate islam, mind you, but radical islam. There are people who consider themselves muslim, but they eat pork and don't pray. It's a cultural identity, not a way of life. But the left will tell you that pictures of pigs and men in turbans will offend ALL muslims. No room for nuance, always appeal to the most extremist common denominator.

Leftists will always say "how can you be non-white/gay/trans/an immigrant/furry/disabled/an Amazonian rain dancer and be right wing?" But this just betrays their own bigotry.

I'm convinced mainstream leftism is just a trick that allowed people to feel good about themselves for "doing the right thing" without doing any of the pesky thinking that comes with it. I've seen people on Reddit talk about protests as if they went to the concert of some band.

Because it's easy to let others do their thinking for them, which they can then repeat and pretend they're intelligent. Few leftists actually understand how conflicting nearly all their arguments are because they never actually scrutinize them themselves. They just think it feels good and therefore must be correct. Ie: White flight is racism, but white people moving back in is also racism.
