Yes it is. Last scene on the plane in episode 8 gave me goosebumps. It was genius.
He's /ourguy/
any link to that acoustic version of halo? It was great
What is the plot in that? He trying to change catholic beliefs?
any link to that hallelujah song? It goes like this
Literally R*ddit: The Show

Forza Napoli
He's trying to take the catholic church to the 1st century?
What a great character.
I was impressed by the confrontation, like you expect after the black priest gave him the whole conspiracy corruption reveal you'd expect the Pope to be the hero:
"You think I'm here to honor you. In fact, I'm here to ascertain your temptations....
Heal yourself, Sister Antonia. Halitosis is a deformation of the soul."
*the dude dropped the jug
Genius, this show is the only one that keeps me on edge
>that nosebleed
>that vocal music when he preached about peace
>that scene with his 10/10 mom half naked
>that scene where he smites sister Antonia
the camera pan into the witnesses to his power was brilliant
>Voiello shitting his pants.
This show gave me so many different feels, something about this character is more complex than the usual morally gray antihero like Walter White, like in any scene with only him and Spencer in a room.
I thought the dude smashed the jug, showing his frustration and those of the people around him.
And I don't really think Voiello was shitting his pants honestly, for him it was par for the course with Lenny.
Still, amazing scene, I like the bit with the pilot.
thanks kind user
"May I touch?"
"No"

Why is this show so fucking funny? Funniest drama since Mad Men and Breaking Bad
Is this bait, or do you just not know how to count?
I'll be honest though, 2 episodes left and I'm still having no idea what the show is actually about. But it's Sorrentino and I think I need to view the show differently
>2 episodes left
Of this season, right? Please tell me this isn't going to be one of those foreign shows that has like 10 episodes and just stops....
Is it based on these popes from the middle ages, or anything in particular? I mean, I suppose it is set in the present.
And what is it, a drama, or what.
And what exactly is he trying to do.
Where can I watch this
I'd rather a complete story be told once than dragging this show out longer than it needs to be.
rarbg and any other torrent site has them all, you'll need subtitles for some scenes, this pack has them for the first 6 which has full subtitles and Italian only.
mega.nz
They say the second series is in development, that's very different from being in production... it's only shown in the UK as far as the English speaking world is concerned. It's like a Sorrentino film even in commercial respects.
I bloody well hope it's done proper and not as a left over idea Sorrentino turned into a teleplay... after the awful Youth, this was really really surprising at how engaging is.
Want to give us the name of the show, cunt?
The way I see it is just logical, like an opposite of Pope Francis. Because after such a progressive pope (as you can get in Catholic terms anyway) you'd get someone like Pius... i mean they make a big deal about him using Pius as the name too.
>Just as with season one, Italian company Wildside is currently developing the second season, and will take it to partners HBO, Sky and Canal Plus for co-financing as soon as Sorrentino finishes the script.
>"We are of course hoping to do it," said Sky Italia chief of content Andrea Scrosati, "but nothing is signed yet."
Just found that in an article... and Sorrentino is apparently working on a Silvio Berlusconi film... so we might not get a 2nd series for a long while.
>And what exactly is he trying to do.
Ban abortions, ban divorce, prevent gays from serving in the church, end ecumenism, curtail the religious freedom of Muslims in Italy, and expand the territory of the Vatican.
What a fucking retard
Does any of you lads know that droning kind of ominous soundtrack piece that has radio sound breaking the pace? What's it called? It's like a theme or something.
you couldn't google Jude Law and Pope?
fucking idiot.
you mean a miniseries? dumb fucking americretin
Is it this one?
fuck i think i know which one you mean, it actually likes like a song Wes uses in Life Aquatic
It ain't available.
Maybe, haven't seen Life Aquatic in a long fucking time. It's got radio stutter, it's exactly how the show starts, with the broken Vatican radio.
Try this.
youtube.com
that def works
It's still not available but I tried the band and the sound and style fit so it must be it. Thanks user.
I kind of wish we had a Pope like him. I don't agree with a lot of what he's proposing, but at least he's true to the actual values of the church.
He's terrific. I love that he's an actual person who can be reasoned with, not just "bad guy out to get the Pope". Like when the old cardinal convinces him to hand over the backup photos because it would destroy the church.
Ah, and here I thought it was just a pope playing with whores and torturing people.
Well, I guess that's better.
>true to the actual values of the church
Like cunning powerplays, political involvement that prevented the unification of Italy 2-3 centuries earlier, assassinations, extracting extortion fees, corruption, debauchery, fraud, etc.?
If anything he represents what earlier Popes should have been but with a mild few exceptions never were.
Anyone got a webm of those feminists in the Vatican gardens?
plenty of sex in the show, it's Sorrentino after all.
Who team /Voiello/ here?
I don't remember last time i saw more loveable and interesting character. Also he is not a villain.
Where do I watch this Catholic kino as an American
I said values, not actions.
>Who team /Voiello/ here?
Right here.
>tfw ywn never watch Napoli with Voiello
>tfw you will never shit-talk Gorgonzola Biguain
Best show 2016
as italian and knowing Sorrentino i'm excepted a complete mess as Youth and This must be place, instead this series is unironically very good.
he wants to return the church to a time when people had respect for it
Best character in the show. He holds back his villainy because he still knows he is a priest.
More like a time when people feared it. People stopped respecting the church when they stopped seriously believing in hell, and when the church lost any type of physical power. The Muslims figured this out almost a century ago, that's how we got the Wahabbists today.
t. librul
satan pls
>Wahabbists
This is what he's really trying to do. I don't remember what episode, but there's a scene where somebody warns Lenny about fundamentalism, then he points out that Sunni Islam is way more fundamentalist and has many more followers.
KEK, that post those digits.
You cant say no to the pope. And church law makes him infallible.
Is Youth not considered good? I must say I'm surprised.
The Holy See rarely stood up to the values it supposedly defended and represented so I have to say that their actions are more defining of their values than the principles themselves. If anything, Pope Judas Lawus is like a weaboo quoting the Bushido.
>You cant say no to the pope
Watch me
What's liberal about it? If you don't really believe that the church can truly punish you for sins, or that going to hell is a legitimate possibility, what incentive is there to not sin other than social disapproval and legal consequences? What incentive is there to pray, to go to mass, to take part in the religion at all? Somewhere along the way most people in the Western world stopped thinking that the church could really hurt them, or that there were any serious consequences for sin. That's why nobody respects it.
^Internet Neo-Christcucks are so annoying
>Is Youth not considered good? I must say I'm surprised.
definetavely, maybe the italian critics was overhyped 'cause the nobel for La grande bellezza but i've seen that movie too and it was pretty sloppy and blund, imo...
I meant the Islam part
*as far as Christian doctrine
i thought the show wasnt out til january?
Best tv show since Mad Men
So is this show "House of Cardinals"? Looks pretty good IMO.
top kek
What's the name of the show again?
It has things HoC never had:
>10/10 performances all around
>excellent writing
>good humour
>superb direction
>very good score
>So is this show "House of Cardinals"

Feminists
No the feminists were at his summer house, not the Vatican, so it was someone else.
Also, feels like the placement of the body is a reference to a religious painting.
...
i've just watched the episode, you're right really caught me unprepared
shit you're right. Maybe it was that lip reading guy
...
>tfw you realize he was picking which shoes would be best for Spencer to kiss
What a vindictive bastard
>Maybe it was that lip reading guy
Now you're just guessing, dude's one of Voiello's trusted agents, he wouldn't go rogue to kill a 'roo.
>He's such a total, incredible, unabashed fucker.
>This show is great.
I remember thinking this about the House of Cards remake, let's hope this fares better.
Where can I watch this?
Sky TV
Voiello seems like the kind of guy who really would have thrived back in the times when the church was more powerful than most countries.
see Is this a meme now?
YOUR EMINENCE
Whatever happened to the based Inter-supporting detective?
How can any other networks even compete? What went so right?
Just finished ep 8. D-did he kill Antonia in prayer? Holy shit, he seems more and more like an Old Testament prophet of doom and reckoning than a Pope.
Why everyone was trying to fuck Dussolier?
>based Inter-supporting detective?
>implying
Maybe her guilt finally caught up with her and it's just coincidence, she was old as fuck.
