Bands/Artists with two iconic albums

The mark of an iconic band/artist that never dies out is having at least noteworthy albums.

Example: Green Day is a band that will continue to sell out large stadiums until they break up or die because they have two notable albums (Dookie and American Idiot).

Who else has had two iconic albums and which were they?

Obligatory Radiohead reply

OK Computer
Kid A

You can do it with just one desu

>Guns n Roses
>Sex Pistols
>Television
>My Bloody Valentine

GnR had several great albums.

unironically My Chemical Romance
Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
Black Parade

Only one iconic album, and that's the first one

Atheist

Deftones

Not saying their other albums aren't great but it's obvious that SFTD and ...Like Clockwork are their masterpieces

The Queen Is Dead
Meat Is Murder or Hatful of Hollow

The only other correct answer so far in the thread Radioshit

but is Like Clockwork really noteworthy?
rock is still as dead as it ever was and that album didn't really change that

Did American Idiot save punk rock? I wouldn't say so. Just because it didn't revive a dying genre, doesn't mean it isn't iconic.

>UYI albums and tour isn't iconic

Smashing Pumpkins

blink
enema and self titled

Shut the fuck up

If QOTSA were to have a second legendary album it would be Rated R
Stop labeling everything as “iconic” because you feel like it is; the single most annoying thing about millennials is that everything “ is important” or “matters” or “is iconic”. If too many things become important or iconic, nothing is important or iconic

but American Idiot had a massive mainstream audience with crossover appeal and a song that went to fucking number 2 on the charts. Not saying sales dictate impact but it did was more than Like Clockwork in almost every regard

>Rated R is their second best album

Okay Grandpa, quit sucking Oliveri's dick for once and realize that ...Like Clockwork is their best album, with the best lyrics, the best melodies, and the best tones.

>quit sucking Oliveri's dick
Nick was on Like Clockwork m8
all their best albums had him on it in some capacity

I'm just saying, most people who claim Rated R is one of their best albums are usually the type of people to claim they've gone downhill since kicking Nick out. I know he was on LC but it was a minimal contribution.

really I'd say Rated R is one of their weaker albums

Kid Cudi

Whether the media or Sup Forumstants want to admit it, the guy released two genre-bending albums with Man on the Moon Vol. I and II. He went on to influence the most influential artist of hip-hop from Drake, Childish Gambino, and Kanye West.

Same. The first half is pretty great, Better Living is my favorite track off of it. Monsters is pretty good but the chorus is weak after that, the album just becomes really lackluster in my opinion.

>muh opinion
Is irrelevant to the thread
It does not have any cultural significance, it's just an album you like.

In my defense, I pretty much got the entire point of this thread wrong. I didn't realize the OP meant iconic as in mainstream culture, I just assumed they meant bands that have two defining albums.

I don’t even care about Oliveri, I care about the overall quality of the music. Rated R is a more adventurous and had a more freewheeling sound. They sound too meticulous on Like Clockwork, like they paid too much attention to detail on it. Quit being a pretentious faggot who thinks that Like Clockwork is “iconic” because it’s your favorite. No one remembers Like Clockwork but you. It’s not relevant at all today. Rated R and Songs for the Deaf are still played regularly because they have staying power. I can’t remember the last time I heard Like Clockwork anywhere because it’s not nearly as significant of an album as RR and SFTD

Joy Division

2 and Salad Days are his only good (iconic) albums

no one outside of Sup Forums knows who this is.

You must not go to college then. Most people attending any sort of liberal arts/community college know who he is

OASIS

Did american idiot kill pop punk?

nah songs like Gives You Hell by All American Rejects and Ain't It Fun by Paramore where hits after American Idiot.
