CPR has such a low survival rate most of them are dead unless an EMT turns up. Also if you've never done it before you will not know the pressure you have to exert... fucking useless diagram.

Wrong, air way management is the number one priority on patients for first responders. Obstructive airways are a big deal.

i was trained on how to do CPR in the army. the combat medic officer training us told us the survival rate is about 10% if you can keep the guy alive with CPR until an ambulance with a defribillator arrives.

Fuck no wonder. I was an EMT about to finish the paramedic program at UCLA. Upper airway management and airway management are the biggest things ever. They save lives left and right. Especially if you start CPR immediately. the point is to wait for BLS or ALS is needed.

yes we were tought upper airway management as well.pinching the lower jaw and keeping it open and all that stuff.but they told us there are cases where you should be more careful like old people or post menopausal women where the force of the CPR can break their ribs easily. do you think you can get sued for saving somebody and breaking their rib?

K

This is how I know you're full of shit, in my BLS course they told us bones are gonna break on old people and the company you work for will back you up. That's why we're insured.

This isn't even how CPR is done anymore. Its all compression's now you don't do mouth to mouth anymore.

No one is talking about how it's done you fucking retard

Basic level CPR courses are compression only. Healthcare’s provider level ones continue to include breaths and pulse check. Compression depth is 2-2.5 inchs

Breaking ribs is a known side effect of cpr, for all ages. I have never heard of someone being sued for breaking ribs. That being said in America anyone can sue for anything. Merit is not required to file a suit only money and knowhow.
