>turns your band into a shitty dadrock band
psssh.. nothin personnel Syd
Turns your band into a shitty dadrock band
>Waters era Pink Floyd
>bad
it already was shitty dadrock though, just a different flavour of it
>Pink Floyd
>dadrock
implying syd wouldn't have run the band into the ground by continuing to make psychedelic music into the 70s
soy?
don't like that word
The wall and everything proceeding was trash and was mostly thanks to waters.
I loved everything before it though (when I was 15, honestly haven't listened to them in ages. I listened to the wall recently to see if it was as bad as I remembered and it was).
I'd say rather watered down
>hey my pathetic little life is making me depressed and miserable
>how can I get some recognition & attention
>I know. I'll go on Sup Forums and troll Pink Floyd fans
>feels better already
Thank you Roger for stopping Pink Floyd from writing anymore nursery rhymes, fuck Syd.

delete your account.
vegetable man was one of the first punk songs, overdrive was one of the first metal riffs, and his solo stuff was mostly folk, he was always changing and miles ahead of Waters
Well memed and nice numbers
Imagine idolizing an overrated drug addled loser who threw away his career and his life. Sad.
I have this exact opinion yet seeing it posted here makes my blood boil
Why are you people so cunt-y about your opinions
To anyone threatened by the "soyboy" and "dadrock" shills, remember this:
Western music, no matter what anyone says about it, is better than other music because it exists as independent ideas and isn't dependent on the context it came out of to have any meaning.
A melody and a chord progression is an idea that exists on its own, regardless of the instrument playing it or the person playing it or the context it's played in. A song exists in the spiritual world. No other music can say that. Other music is context dependent. Western music is not context dependent.
This is why rock never dies -- because rock exists as musical ideas that anyone with a piano can play. Rock is just following the tradition of classical and romantic music (and western music in general) -- the key features of those being music composition (melodies and chord progressions).
Other forms of music don't do that. You can't cover a rap song on a piano. If you were covering it, you'd be covering the sample they used. And you're certainly not going to be covering the rapping itself.
The aesthetics of a rock song emerge from the composition of the music, not from the superficial timbre of the instruments. The "vibe" can be recreated with any instrument because the idea exists outside of the instrument or the person or anything. This is a hugely important distinction.
None of this "soyboy" or "dadrock" shit will ever take away from that.
Waters era Floyd is fucking GOAT.
Gilmour > Syd > Waters
>Shitty conceptual hippy music with one or two good songs in between
He did Syd a favor lad
Piper at the Gates of Dawn is based but I really do prefer Waters/Gilmour era Floyd
most people who trash on the Wall is ironically because they themselves have built a "Wall" around themselves extra proof especially if they're posting on Mongolian Basketweaving Boards
