Saw > triangle > sine > square
Can we all agree on this?
Saw > triangle > sine > square
sine> all
wow you managed to get it completely backwards
saw > square > sine > triangle
square > triangle > sine > noise > silence > ... > saw
wavetable >>>
All wave shapes are just stacked sine waves though.
Am I dreaming or is thread for fucking real.
Sure if it's the 90s again and you're into industrial
get the fuck out you additive synthesis pleb
>fourier
>pleb
pleb
>analytic results
>being applicable computationally
>being relevant to hardware
i bet you think you're clever because you're taking your first semester in undergrad functional analysis but you should really get your head out of your ass
physical modeling is where the future at
you should check out verilog
what the fuck are you geeks talking about
You completely got it wrong
Saw |\
Square |_|
Sine S
Triangle /\
Trap beats
Laughed at the square and sine
yeah if you switch triangle and square
lol
Easy candidate for worst thread of all time
Saw waves are cliched plebeian pap. "dude bzzzzz lmao"
Layer those Oscillators
this
I like triangle
>Square
П
Oh wow great, I was thinking about just making a thread for it but I might ask here:
I'm very interested in picking up modular synths/analog synth muzic in general. Got a nice job that gives plenty of free time and all I want is to shut myself in my dorm with some machines and experiment.
It is a vast, often expensive route so I'm wondering if you would suggest me to start from any particular PC software (I haven't looked into this that much since touching pc programs leaves me a little cold but i'm not rich and a fucking newbie in making music so perhaps I shall start there) or else
I only own pic related for the moment, might pick up something new this christmas
Thanks in advance for your advice
Not sure what you're asking. You want to do modular but you want to do software isntead?
If you want to do modular MuffWiggler and ModularGrid are the resources you need.
There's a free modular softwar emulator called VCV Rack. There's also a fairly cheap, more complete software modular by Softube. There are also things like Pure Date and Max/MSP that you could use to do modular type things but are more programming centric.
this guy gets it
Pure Data*
Also, if you're into text based interface there's SuperCollider
>using old waves in 20**
>not shaping and folding sines into complex waveshapes
i personally prefer sine waves best
Sine and Square
try grabbing something cheap on cyber monday or black friday
sine > square > saw >>>>>>> triangle (what's the fucking point of this)
waveshaping has also been around for 40-50 years
you really tryin to make a pad with a saw or square? sine and triangle are great for soft sounds
saw>square>sine>triangle
If you want to do modular stuff on a computer, I've heard Reaktor is good.
it's good if you already have a decent understanding of synths and different synthesis types
not very beginner friendly
You gotta start somewhere though. It's not like reaktor is any different than any other synth.
>not being a part of the squarewave master race
