The problem isn't (or at least wasn't) Paradox Interactive itself, but that they couldn't sell games with swastikas in them in Germany (and probably other places).
And it was evidently too bothersome to keep separate Germany and rest-of-the-world versions.
A person made a "European names" mode for Stellaris and then paradox removed it from steam. siting a bunch of shit. He re-uploaded it following paradox's little list of don't do this

Stellaris was such a huge disappointment. After 6 hours it was already stale.
EU4 has been ruined by xpacks appealing to players who can't play the game properly.
CK2 got scripted to death where certain characters start out so strong that the game plays out almost identical for the first 100 years due to event troops. The Charlemagne event is so shit i cannot even put words on it.
Parajew is not gonna get more shekels from this goy anymore unless i can see 20+ hours on gameplay on YT and still be interested.
To be fair though: these things were never part of the HoI franchise.
