NINE!

cuck !

the solution is ?. it already says so.

9

160 is here

>1

you only need like 35 iq to be able to solve this
and it's nine

IQ has nothing to do with solving math problems.

But the answer is 9

BIDMAS elementary school maths retard

Your term can be interpreted as follows:
6:(2*(1+2))=6:(2*3)=6:6=1
(6:2)*(1+2)=3*3=9

Since you did not specify brackets you Syntax is incorrect.

-----------------------------------------

In Algebra division is defined as multiplying with the inverse element.

Multiplication is an algebraic structure which combines two operands into a single result:
*:RxR->R.

This means is has exactly 2 operands not more or less. If you don't make clear with paranthesis what 2 elements you want to multiply you failed writing down a correct mathematical term.

Uno

Rekt

Why is there a space between the 2 and the parenthesis?

>People with an IQ of 110+ only please

Butter kek

I see more and more of these nowadays. I am still convinced it is just mindless clickbait...but then I there is a consistant stream of people giving wrong answers. I was bad at math in school and i struggled with it in University...but damnit I have understood the hierarchy of these basic operators since I was 10. What the fuck do they spend time on in school these days?

i have 115 IQ
Answer is 9

There are two possible answers to this:

1, It's ambivalent and undetermined, therefore, there's no result.
6/[2(1+2)] would have a result as well as
(6/2)(1+2) would have a result
6/2(1+2) does not have a result since it's undetermined.

2, Divisions are left-associative; that means, they have to be used as follows: a/b/c = (a/b)/c =/= a/(b/c). Therefore, calculating 6/2 is prior to calculating 2(1+2), since 6/2(1+2) is the same as 6/2/1/(1+2)

That said, it's unclear if the answer to this question is {there is no answer} or {9}, since you might argue for one of the two, but {1} is clearly false.

9.

how would you solve this:

6 / 2(x + 2) = 1

?

that equation does not equal question mark. OP youre an idiot, and a faggot.

It's 1

9
It's read left to right with order of operations.
6/2(1+2)
3(1+2)
3(3)
9

>Your term can be interpreted as follows:
>6:(2*(1+2))=6:(2*3)=6:6=1
>(6:2)*(1+2)=3*3=9
Tard
Stop modifying his problem. Answer the problem as posed, make no assumptions.

The answer is 9 and no other solution exists.

how would you solve this:

6 / 2(x + 2) = 1

?

you dont use this dividing shit in equalations

All you morons saying its 9. The answer is fucking 17

how would you solve this:

6 / 2(x + 2) = 1

???

9

>ambivalent

It's not ambivalent - the "x(y)" multiplicative operator notation has been in use for hundreds of years. It's considered poor form to, but this notation is perfectly valid.

correct

you use a fraction

This answer does not follow the laws of BIDMAS, however. Instead the division comes first, resulting in 3(1+2)
We then must expand the brackets, making 3+6 (9)
Therfore, ?=9

Nice dubs.
Check m you goddamn faggot.

Btw, my answer is the picture.

how would you solve this:

6 / 2(x + 2) = 1

?

not that guy but math is based on NEVER MAKING ANY ASSUMPTIONS tard.

>6 / 2(x + 2) = 1
>6 / 2 (x + 2) = 1
>6 / 2 (x + 2) = 1

I might be one of them slow people

But I'm pretty sure it goes
(1+2)
2×3
6÷6
= 0

are you all autistic the answer is 1

People with an IQ over 110 don't use that notation for division.

Will you look at that, I am slow

>6÷6
>= 0

The answer is:

6 / [2 * 3] = 6 / 6 = 1

>how would you solve this:
>6 / 2(x + 2) = 1
>?

[2x + 4] / 6 = 1
2x + 4 = 6
2x = 2
x = 1

6 divided by 6 is not zero

>6/2 (1+2)
>6/2 (3)
>3 3
>no clear mathematical operator in between either number
>we assume 3 3 or 3(3)=9
The end.

>It's read left to right with order of operations.
no it's not.

1. mutiplication / division
2. addition / subtraction

in that order, bright eyes.

Stating your IQ without stating the test that it corresponds to is meaningless. A person with an IQ of 139 SB has an IQ of 158 Cattell (European standard).

The answer to the question is 9, btw.

See it like this. If dividing by 2, is halving something, then:

6 * 0.5 * (1 + 2) = ????
--> 9

It’s 4

Anyone posting the answer is 1 after this post is a TROLL

unironically 1

>if same precedence: left to right
This is only true for subtractions and divisions, it's not true if it comes to exponents, however. Exponentiation is right-associative:
a^b^c = a^(b^c) =/= (a^b)^c
that means: a^b^c^d = a^[b^(c^d)]

1.

It's called PEMDAS, you retarded motherfuckers. Go back to grade 6, please.

But you don't understand how PEMDAS actually works, silly. Division is equal to multiplication in the order of operations, so you do whichever one appears first in the problem first.

In other words, the answer is 9.

6/2 (1+2) = x
6/2 (3) = x
3 (3) = x
x = 9

I honestly cant blame anybody who is answering with 9 or 1. You all at least grasp the concept of what you're supposed to do, but one of you is wrong on the execution, which is a simple fix really. At least you can conceptually understand how its supposed to be done.

I have no hope for anyone that is answering with 3 or 6 though... If you legitimately answer with anything that isn't a 9 or a 1, I would heavily suggest you study math a bit more.

People with iq over 100 dont use that stupid division sign

don't you solve inside the parentheses first though?

Ah another intellectual, such as myself. Glad to see that at least someone else isn't squandering their potential like everyone else.

*le tips fedora* xD

Do you watch Rick & Morty, my friend?

I have news for you
