My one nitpicky complaint is that while the low chanting vocals on this album are cool, I wish they'd switch it up or at least add some doubled vocals an octave up over them in some cases.

Overall a great album though.

I really don't like the mixing on this one tbqh. The drums especially sound so clean and boring. I re-listened to Mind Fuzz earlier, and I feel like the energy they once had is waning. Also it's a prog album that doesn't really progress musically until the last minute of the last song. I was listening fairly passively the first time and now I'm struggling to even sit through the whole thing again

I get your point about energy, but I think that's just the style of this particular record. It's much more chill than the rest of their stuff. But Nonagon which came out last year and MotU which came out a few months ago IMO are their two most energetic records.

it's pretty boring and repetitive much like the rest of king gizzard's overblown output from 2017. like someone else said here, they should have focused on one project and put their best ideas into it than spreading it out between four mediocre records. some of the tracks on this album and from their other albums this year have been some really good kraut inspired jam band-y stuff but the overwhelming majority is just nothing special.

I'm half through it and it feels too bland and repetitive like the stuff they been putting out recently. It would be better if they kept this 'lore' they have going on but with the style of Oddments or 12 Bar Bruise.

I think it's got more in common with Microtonal than Murder of the Universe. I recommend listening twice, once for the music and once for the story (with a lyric sheet)

Loving this album a lot, Crumbling Castle and Loyalty are the best songs imo. Getting a really strong Tool, Yes and King Crimson influence

I actually like MotU, it's just that I like the other ones better. Both han-tyumi and altered beast are great, I just thought the balrog bit was some of their least original stuff.

I rate MotU lower than FMB because of the mixing. It's low fi, especially compared to Poly. And it would have really benefited from the polish Poly got in mastering.

Iam glad that they pülayed in Europe this year. They are wy better live than excepted, I recommend them if you are in this kind of music.
