Use popular mediums that make classical out to be more than this "boring and senile" medium. As an example watch the movie Amadeus with her. If you're into anime watch Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso and/or Nodame Cantabile with her. You could also try to make certain subconcious positive connection between romantic moments and classical in general (Ae. kiss her always when a certain piece starts to play?). Just try to make the experience of listening to classical interesting and try to make the experience positive. Good luck.

is it pathetic confessions time? hibike euphonium actually reignited my passion for playing music

So I want to listen to all of Bach's cantatas. Is there a preferred listening order? Should I go by BWV number? Or there's a chronological listing that would be better?
Ethan Reyes
oh man thx brother. what sort of classical is this called?
Can anyone tell me what this piece really is? It doesn't match up with the one named in the description.
Brayden Wright
user, you're my fucking hero, a gentleman and a scholar, all of my internets are belong to you, here's your cookie, you know the drill. Thanks a lot.

music from the Romantic period (19th century) listen to Brahm's other symphonies, Schubert's 9th, Saint-Saen's 3rd, Liszt's Les preludes for a good start on orchestral music from that period
Me too, user. That and Kids on the Slope. The good thing is that I found my old copy of Czerny's Gradus ad Parnassum and that one's useful as hell for starting to play piano again.
Ian Carter
no, sorry, he didn't make any. He's mostly known for his recordings of Hans Zimmer transcriptions

The famous minuet in G that you're probably tired of hearing was not written by Bach but actually by some rando by the name of Petzold. Some theorize that he was Bach's ghost writer and is still alive even to this day...
Isaiah Clark
>t. petzold

seriously, /classical/ has the worst memes
Owen Cox
couldn't imagine enjoying classical music without having studied music since the age of 5 t bh lads
don't listen to . Watch caligula or maybe star wars. The easiest stuff to get into and hold onto is Romantic era stuff. Maybe go see Swan Lake, or put on the music from Peer Gynt. But I would stick to the classics from that period, or Symphony 7 from Beethoven. Maybe Piano Sonata 14, or you could play the Suite Bergamasque by Debussy or Afternoon of the Faun
Is there any non-mega of these dumps? You can't download with Palemoon or a non-chrome borwser

it's much more enjoyable to watch people play Bach than it is to listen.

Its kinda fun if your in the mood to analyze it

Caligula doesn't even have any classical music besides Prokofiev's Dance of the Knights and showing it to a woman you just met is a really bad idea.

What does /classical/ think of Samuel Andreyev's videos?
Elijah Williams
I liked his Webern videos.
Joshua Sanders
False, they say show a woman a horror film to get her andreline running. Imagine a history buff seeing that film, it'll get her all hot and heavy. Also I thought there was another piece beside the Sergi piece, its been a while since ive seen the film.
Oh also you can show her Kubrick. He always had good classical pieces in his films.
Christopher Johnson
>The Stranger being compared to GoT.
This upsets me greatly.
Connor Barnes
He sure does like his Webern
I interviewed him for my radio show last week, would anyone be interested in listening to it?
If I was a "normie" I would personally find the choir singing kinda off-putting to be honest. And I would say that Bach is not really all that entry level to impress a regular listener, but I won't deny that there may be exceptions to this. What I would personally do is watch the entertaining mediums that advocate classical music and then later put some background music with cantabile quality like Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and maybe even some Mozart. You could also try to play pleasing and memoriable melodies.
I know, I've listened to pieces such as Rachmaninov's 2nd piano concerto and found that I didn't really enjoy them compared to Bach's piano concertos for example.
Maybe I need to keep trying until I can enjoy it
Parker Torres
Which recording do you have?

Rachmaninov's piano concertos and Bach's are pretty much like day and night to me so it's understandable. I personally love both and I can't really tell anything else but keep trying, it's worth it,
