I don't mind housing refugees as long as they are kept away from most of the population, have strict laws regarding deportation that are enacted with a zero-tolerance policy, and all of them are sent back to their home country after a while. They should also be documented well and should not be given extra spending money, just food, water and shelter.
It should be a temporary safe haven in a camp, not a mass emigration movement like it's become. These people have shown that they don't assimilate well and their traditions are contrary to our own.

I can agree with that massive immigration only displaces a population, rather than add to it, however my reason for believing in this is because the value of the US dollar is usually either stable or falling in value. So of course economically, money has to be effectively displaced or lost to accommodate newcomers. This will correspond to population displacement since money used to support one family is now gone and being used to support another. It's a sad fact of life, but I don't think it necessarily means we should turn away immigrants. I think it means we should work harder as a nation to make superior product to raise the value of our currency to accommodate more people, as we did when we took in massive influx from Italy, Ireland, etc.

I also find it funny that in continuing with the logic of population/wealth displacement, it gives a reason precisely why not to vote for Donald Trump.
