Mistiming a Q, or a W, is fatal for Yi. Also, just stun, knockup, polymorph, charm, burst him down. Theres a reason he's rarely seen in competitive play, and thats because he is easily shut down, same as Kat.

Variety in competitive league is an oxymoron. People will always use the best champions if they want to win in tournaments. That won't change unless there's something like 500 champions.
Of course there will be champions that are less played than others and more champions there are, the less some of them will be used.
The more I hear about reworks and shit, the gladder I feel about quitting lol.

Obviously, otherwise they wouldn't have nerfed Taliyah a couple months ago. The competetive scene for league has gitten really boring cuz they don't switch anything up so we don't ever see any major chabges in team comp. Like at worlds, SKT's comp was just super cookie cutter and uninteresting to watch

I've explained this to you before and you didn't listen. Over time champ kits become outdated and either can't compete with new champs or their kit is too impossible to balance. Other instances is where lore inconsistency happens or their it doesn't match their thematic. One such instance was Galio. He's supposed to be an anti mage gargoyle which suits a tank but he played more an aoe burst mage and was unhealthy to the game when he was strong due to the nature of his abilities. Another instance was Swain who's title referred to him as a Master Tactician but he actually had the kit of a Warlock. Turning into a giant demon bird who walks at people doesn't feel like a master tactician at all so they changed his theme to fit his Warlock identity and now he's actually in a good spot gameplay wise. His old kit was a nightmare to balance because he was either roflstomp OP or so weak he was a meme. Finally we come to Irelia who didn't match up to her theme as one who uses telekenisis to control her blades. Her Q was generally fine and was a big part to why she was popular so that why it went mostly unchanged. Her passive was hard to balance, her W had no scaling and wasn't allowed to have scaling because I'd it did it would be overpowered and her old E was toxic to play against because it was a stat check and if you lost you died with little to no counter. Only her R really showed that thematic of a telekenetic blade weilder.

I think the new runes are a good step in the right direction honestly. Opens up nee places to play champs, and gives new life to dead ones (Harvest Nocturne, Harvest Kha, Phase Rush Darius, Wukong getting a major buff due to Conqueror, Aatrox still sitting pretty with nothing going for him but potential Grasp raidboss)

Yeah the new runes definitely help, gives different playstyles to champs like Ahri and Taliyah given that aery, comet and phase rush work well on each of them (phase rush better on Tal tho)
It's just so boring to see the same general champs picked over abd over, i.e. Lulu, Gragas, Maoki, etc.
Maybe some day we'll get back to the glory days of S3 and the sort

Only thing that's same about Swain is the name. It's not the same character anymore. Swain was a tactician who could also change into a giant bird. I'd say the tactician part was more in his design. They basically removed/deleted Swain from the game completely, but since Rito doesn't like to say that they delete champions, they call them "reworks" instead.
There wasn't anything executionery about Urgot either. Is it bad that the character doesn't really have abilities that reflect his title? Not imo.
Was Nasus's new design necessary? His old voice sounded way cooler and he also looked a lot better design wise.
So what if it's Chinese knockoff level shit? It's not a Chinese knockoff. Would it be better if the game only had 20 champions?
Old groovy Zilean looked a lot better than the new one tbh. These new ugly washed out colors.
