Gallagher is awesome! My favorite old time comedian!

>greatest comedian ever?
He's the greatest comedian ever.

If you're talking about George Carlin, he's amazing. Love love love his work, and watching his evolution through the years, from jokester to protester to sarcastic master to guru is just great. The man never pandered, on his best nights the audience was still at least 20% unsure they were really with him. To be that fearless and take so many risks for 40 years and still sell out every show? Nobody has really done that in comedy.

I guess people weren't so sensitive back then. Imagine the stuff he said over the years saying now.
More than that, imagine what he would say about today's times. Man I'd pay my last cent to hear him talk about shit that happens today.

Wish George was alive now to put his spin on this sub human driveling shit that goes on now.

Got too political. A lot of his material hasn’t aged well.

read as:
>was too relevant on the day he did it
>not relevant all the time forever
>this is a bad thing
grow up kid

i know he's considered one of the greats but i don't really get into his shit. it's just a bit dated for me.

widen your perspective.
look at the forest & not just a single tree.
human stupidity is timeless.

I think he's dead

Dated? How old are you, 18?

Talentless cunt who took high-school philosophical platitudes and observation and marinaded them in artificial world-weariness and sarcasm to produce an unoriginal stream of sub-adult, angsty consciousness

I can understand why he appeals to the hard-of-thinking

uuuh so edgy, mate.
which comedian's work do you like?

We certainly do enjoy criticizing things in retrospect don't we? How easy! If you aren't mature enough to exercise basic perspective and levity you're a moron. Shut up.

>uuuh so edgy, mate
No, that's Carlin you're talking about
Comedians? Tommy Cooper, Bob Monkhouse, Barry Cryer, Tony Hancock for some. Python.

One of the best of all time.

Plus, he triggers hillbillies which I strongly support.

>We certainly do enjoy criticizing things in retrospect don't we?
Isn't that the point of the thread, you dumb fuck? And it's kinda difficult not to be in retrospect when the subject is dead, unless you happen to have a Ouija board to hand. You really are a special kind of stupid, aren't you?

Just take a break from the internet and read your Bible.

I think it's time to go ahead and take a break from the internet user

he wasn't very funny

his bit about golf goes on and on, he just describes a round of golf step by step as if it's inane, but you can do that with any sport.

and same with his bit about airports and airplane safety. Although I'll admit that I like that he points out that the captain should just be called a pilot it's like the only interesting observation in a really long bit

also toward the end of his career it seemed like he wasn't even attempting to be funny any more, he was just complaining. Lenny Bruce did the same thing

I fuckin love bill hicks

Samefagging a stupid point doesn't improve it

Also, take this, as an example. Just listen to the first 3 minutes. "A list of people who should be killed, starting with those who read self-help books" Hilarious (/sarcasm)

"Threadbare" would be a fucking compliment

I'll leave you soyboys to suck Carlin's dead dick as you think he's so fucking edgy. I bet you all liked Bill Hicks - another talentless fuckwit from the same mold

showed my virgin 18 year old chinese girlfriend GC and she didnt get it at all
i think she even said it was boring

fuck her you retard

i will, im just tongueing her anus and doing 69 and bjs atm

That's oddly specific.

shes pretty representative of her peer group

There he is, that's who I was looking for.
Carlin was funny, but Hicks was honest. Both were bold, but Hicks' philosophy was a little bit more on my level. I felt Carlin, did play it a little safer than Hicks. Carlin shocked audience for a cheap laugh or two, Hicks shock the audience by telling them what they needed to hear.

Also fuck Denis Leary's stealing ass plagiarizing bullshit.

what bit did leary steal?

>that sub genius level post

I enjoy Lenny Bruce more.

Wait......That's not Mitch Hedberg.....

Thoughts on the actual greatest comedian ever?

"Why'd you quit smoking, Bill?"
"To see if Dennis Leary would." - Bill Hicks

No Cure for Cancer, was the one Bill Hicks personally mentioned about Leary stealing. But, he also stole his mannerisms and style for those shows. Even better, Louie CK, claims to have written the Asshole song at 19, and when he was ready to try it out on stage, was shocked people boo'd him because Leary, performed it first.

A bit ironic, but true to the song, only an asshole would steal that song. So at least it was in keeping with the theme.

These two are the actual best. Stanhope and Hedberg are two of the funniest guys ever.

Carlos Mencia? He's the best. I love when he does the hurr durr bit, so funny. Great guy.

he stole jokes and the ones he made weren't funny

That's because I'm 3 IQ points below the Mensa genius level.

I see you have no argument against the points I made though, so what does that make your post? Sub-normal?

no u

there was satire yet as always truth behind it, thats what made it brilliant

>there was satire
I think you need to look that word up

youd have to be a fucking soyboy to NOT have a list of people you want killed, more then just an ironic little bit

why do you fags think these edge lord "comedians" are some great philosophers?

go back to watching barney

his last special was 10 years ago you dumb cunt, of course it's dated. again, i'm not saying he's shit of course he's not. i just don't personally get into his shit because, it's 10 years old. i prefer listening to stand ups who are alive and producing new material, it's just more interesting to me.

>widen your perspective
yeah maaaan, i just don't get it maaaaan. you sound worse than a peterson fanboy

fucking comedy nerds

No, my philosophy is a little more nuanced.
Enjoyment in entertainment, and specifically what we find funny, is very much linked to our intelligence.
So, the way you criticized both Carlin and Hicks showed you understood the surface stuff. You cleared the masses entertainment. The things that were aimed at them. But you missed the deeper more thought provoking thematic agendas of an entire set. So, I recognized you fell into a crack. You weren't easily fooled by the cheap slapstick antics, but you found no enjoyment out of the subtle wit of recognizing our own flaws and poking fun at them.
If I had to guess you enjoy Ron Black, Lewis Black, and maybe Dennis Miller? For their shorter, insightful, but much more direct jokes. Less philosophical word play.
Also, who uses "soyboy" unironically, other than a soyboy in denial?

gumble?

i had tickets to see him but i can't now. i'm super sad. he's my favourite comic.

Lol, 35 y.o. here.

P.s.
Shut the fuck up

He wasn't just the greatest comedian of all time, he was a genius. I learned quite a bit from him.

the dinosaur

never heard of her

Take a break, man

No, I enjoy Al Madrigical and John Hodgemen you facist Nazi asshole.

So now I'm going to stereotype you. I bet you enjoy racist comedy like Owen Benjamin or that irrelevant peice of shit Doug Stanhope

I don't know who 3 of those people are.
Is John Hodgemen the "PC guy" from the apple ads?
Also, what did I say anything about fascism?
