1 to 2

1 to 2

Don't be a bitch.

2 to 1

1:2. I hate cooking rice, always gets everywhere

Finger on the top of the rice, Up to 1st knuckle joint of your index finger

1:1.5

1 cup rice : 1.5 cup water use the same cup

1/3

There you halve it folks, rice is like sand

allright thx anons
i know how to make rice, i just had a rice blackout

It depends on how old the rice is (older rice needs a bit more water) and the species of rice.

Most Japanese-style rice (also grown in California) is about a 1.1 (water) to 1 (rice) ratio for new crop

Most Indian rice or American rice is more like 1.5-2 (water) to 1 (rice)

This unless using a rice cooker. They use 1:1

1:1
Bring to slight boil, just until bubbles form around edge. Cover with a kitchen towel between pot and lidand turn the flame low. Cook for 10 minutes. Perf rice every time

Towel near open flame / burner. How are you not on an arson watch list?

you are user that spill'd rice cummies in bra aren't you...
i'm onto you

also as far as rice goes, you want things steamy
hot and steamy

I fill up the pot, cook the rice then strain out the water. Comes out delicious

asian here (eats breakfast, lunch and dinner with rice) put the end of your finger on top of the rice and add water till the first line on your finger.

1:1.5
After water started boiling covered with a plastic bag and a lid then cook it on low for 25 minutes and it will be done

I never need more than a 1:1 water to rice ratio.

2/1 for fluffy rice. 1.3/1 for fried rice (must cook 15/rest for 5 min)

Leave the future fried rice in the fridge overnight.

>assuming everyone has a gas stove

>turn the flame low

>put it into a pot of boiling water

Congrats anons you made it up to here without posting racist or sexist bs

Get an Asian girlfriend user. Problem solved.

them asians are an industrious and timely people

One part less water to rice
Ex. 4 parts water 5 parts rice

for Japanese rice
after the rice has been washed soaked for no less than a hour and dried in a mesh strainer an hour the ratio is 1:1.1-1.2
makes firm shiny rice which is typically the preferred consistency for that rice

pour the rice into the pan you’re going to cook it in. level it out and place your index finger so that it is touching the surface of the rice. Add enough water so that it comes up to your first knuckle
still depends also on each rice a bit.
this works best in rice cookers

1 liter to 1 cup of rice

OP here, just checked if this tread is still going

the rice was cooked successfully, i did it with 1.8 water (which was 2 before i spilled a bit)
it came out good. I ate it with some chicken, sweetcorn and chili sauce

Speaks the truth.

>not using a rice cooker
Srsly, even the cheap ones work fine.

isnt a rice cooker just a rice specific pot?
I mean, rice isnt that hard to make as if it needed some special equipment. and its not like i eat rice so frequently that i need some special rice cooker

I love to cook and rice can be done in several ways. Most people argue the ratio is 1:2, 1 cup of rice and 2 of water, but in most cases 1:1.5 give best results. Good luck with your rice, OP

we can't let this great thread die
