Why is it that socialism sounds great on paper but it literally has never and will never work? I really don't like that it doesn't work, but there is just no example of a single time it ever has, and that really sucks. Why is socialism, and communism, initially appealing but then quickly reveals itself as a giant pile of shit? Why isn't it easier to smell? I just don't understand and it makes me sad.

Marxism on paper is actually a pretty brilliant theory of how to get the people up in arms about whatever current shittiness is being inflicted on them by their lives. But Marx's vision starts to stagnate after the theorized revolution succeeds. That's because socialism is not really a theory of how to manage transitions from governing in one way to governing in another. It is a theory of how to get people to back a revolution, and that's it.
I mean, sure, people can overthrow their government, but if they don't replace it with anything that's especially different from the previous government, then it's going to turn to shit. And if people have only vague and miscalculated ideas about how to manage their society's transition from its previous ways to the "new system" then everything's going to turn to shit.
And that part has probably got very little to do with Marx. It's just people. People who are in dire situations, such as economic destitution, tend to fall back on whatever seems the most familiar and orderly to them, which usually resembles whatever system they had before. Only the system often ends up being far worse than before, because winning revolutions sometimes inadvertently teaches people that barbarism and violence have practical applications.

Also the US was blatantly a socialism during WWII, though industries weren't actually owned by the government/people there were enough controls on prices, wages, and production that they might ought to be. Most fantasy stories "sound good on paper". That's why people read them. Jewish propaganda is designed to be as emotional as possible while avoiding any real facts/evidence/statistics, honest ones at least.
