Its such a solid album. Need a few more listens to pick a fav

Did you ever refuse to listen to a band because their name is straight up retarded?

Why are you just admitting you're retarded?

no, hearing a retarded band name makes me want to listen to their music more.
Thankfully, this retarded band name churned out quality

i liked it

still want a direct followup to nonagon infinity though

Have they made a fully instrumental album yet? Stu is the only thing holding them back.

i think stu is an excellent vocalist, it's that annoying girl that's been coming in and talking during the recording that needs to get out

was that not MOTU? Mind you I'm not too familiar with the lore bullshit if that's what you're talking about.

i meant instrumentally and sonically, not story

Ah well that's probably never happening. MOTU is still the closest we'll get I think

So I'm trying to get into King Gizz and the only songs I've heard are Rattlesnake which I liked, and some other really long song about a robot wanting to vomit. Where should I start?

start with nonagon infinity and then move on to mind fuzz, then microtonal banana up to the newest stuff

>a robot wanting to vomit
that was Han Tyumi and the Murder of the Universe, the title track of the same album

If you liked Rattlesnake listen to the rest of Flying Microtonal Banana, which it's the lead track of. Then Polygondwanaland, Nonagon Infinity and I'm In Your Mind Fuzz (in order)

also keep in the back of your mind all those albums relate lore-wise to the vomit robot, especially Nonagon and Polygon

>it's that annoying girl that's been coming in and talking during the recording that needs to get out
holy shit for a second I thought you meant Ambrose before I realized you meant spoken word sections lady

Thanks friendos. Will do.

>that feeling when Poly's title track comes on
>WE'RE GONNA GET THERE
It's just fucking happy. It sounds so happy and hopeful. It sounds like kids taking their first holiday. Fucking smile everytime.

Who here /innercell/?

>King Gizzard lore that stretches beyond album
Who the fuck actually notices that shit? I guess I'm too used to legitimate prog concept albums that congest it all into one record, but beyond Murder of the Universe the lyrics usually feel like they just threw them together because they sound good.

Poly and Murder are the only ones where the lore is actually part of the album concept instead of the band throwing in references to fuck with redditors. But it's kind of neat when you piece it together.

I don't have a favorite song from Poly because pretty much all of it is fucking great. But Horology (all three tracks are one song - Inner Cell / Loyalty / Horology) is pretty close to my favourite.
