Last thread died way too easy. My thirst for this stuff is not quenched. Post more early recorded music, especially full albums. Jazz and folk are OK but only if they are of exceptional content. Quality is not so much an issue for me. I'll probably post some of this in the sharethread so check there if you dig it

here's the old thread with more links
That first album is nuts man thanks
Yes but again I'm not looking for chaff
Guess I'll bump with some albums. Erroll has a lot of god-tier stuff. Shares forthcoming
Johnny Ray was pretty good. He had a big influence on 60's musicians who adapted his emotional style to rock music.

Anybody else listen to Peter and the Wolf? This is by far my favorite version, with narration by the legendary Boris Karloff, absolutely hypnotizing.
This is really nice. It's like a really jazzy/swingy Sinatra and that little bit of harshness in his voice is perfect. Thanks
i mentioned esquivel, sumac & other exotica type stuff....also theres marty Gold for that wacky hard panned stereo stuff

Man would I love to see a modern day act recreate this sort of sound. Fuck can you even imagine seeing that in person?
in my imagination this is what Sup Forums listens to constantly
And OK I know Righteous Brothers don't really count for the thread but I gotta post this anyway

I just don't know how well it would work these days
I disagree. Three or four talented girls singing harmonies backed by some jazz drummer, throw in a smooth motherfucker on the keyboards, maybe a subtle rhythm guitar. That should would fucking slay. There's already a fair bit of interest in swing revival type stuff, check this out.
that wolf is adorible, and so are the other woodland creatures
I've got the original LP this was released on, but I considered it too roached to transfer. I may have to revisit it.
Just posted a shitton of Four Freshmen in the Sharethread for ya, OP. Check it out.
