My favorite fictional band besides Spinal Tap

For some reason I think if Reznor actually did this it would sell a gazillion copies and many of those songs would hit #1.

Tool's LP5

The Beach Boys' Surfin' 2000 (1999) - the imaginary follow-up to Summer In Paradise that's somehow even worse, filled with horrible features by LL Cool J, Ted Nugent, Billy Ray Cyrus, Celine Deon, and the Beastie Boys. Included are tasteless reworkings of the band's classic hits (including a remake of Good Vibrations with a rap interlude by Snoop Dogg), sequels to others, and Mike Love originals that make "Summer of Love" sound like a masterpiece.

This really was his masterpiece.

these guys rock!

Though, if you ask me, I prefer his work on "I Found Out About War And I Am In Favor Of It", but I couldn't find a high-quality image of that absolute gem.

Just thinking about the mere idea of this disintegrates a little bit of my soul

YOU ALL EVERYBODY

For about a year, I'd have a dream that began with me in a dark room with black and white checkerboard tiles, and me and 11 other people were standing at a semi-circle table. A twelfth person was in the middle, and want us to bring him an album called The Yellow Album that was said to contain the ultimate wisdom or something like that. I remember finding it in some of the dreams, and the cover art was a yellow field with a splotch of black ink. I'd listen to the song and hear what I'd describe as a perfect song before waking up seconds into it. Since it's perfect music, I have to say it's my favorite fictional album.
