Excellent choice, the track he did for Turin Horse is amazing, although it's a shame they used it 15 times in the film and you're sick of it by the end

My favorite movie scoring is the really fast atonal violin stuff like in horror movies. So whoever does that the most and/or did it first. Offhand I just remember it from Friday the 13th

Agreed, plus it didn't help that the Turin Horse was a brutal watch in general.

Bernard Herrmann who did the music for Psycho. I bet there was some B level movie that used it earlier than the 60s though.

hans zimmer

Fuck Hans Zimmer.
"epic" sounding drivel

Preisner
Liska
Fiser
Micah Levi (Micachu)
Mihaly Vig
Georges Delerue
Michael Nymann
Jocelyn Pook
That woman who did all the Angelopoulos movies

Zimmer is good when he actually cares. Usually it's just bombastic nonsense.

You mean the shower scene?

Mica Levi's scores for Under the Skin and Jackie have been my two favourite scores in the last like 5 years so probably her right now

Liska is Zdenek Liska and Fiser is Lubos Fiser, by the way.

Also, I really like Schnittke's choral works. Don't care much for the rest, though.

Yeah

Danny Elfman

I'm gonna go the normie route and say John Williams

Prokofiev

>the guy who openly borrows and steals from major composers
try actually listening to music
